Ringing in the New Year! (01/01/2012)
Posted by: Cuer - January 1, 2012
From the
Official FFXI Site
(January 1):
Happy New Year, kupo!
May it be filled with fun, felicity, and fruitful adventures for all.
By the by, have you heard that the Far Eastern calendar deems this coming cycle the "Year of the Wyrm"?
Mayhaps the myriad musings whispered through the MHMU's halls are true; wyrms will wend their way to Vana'diel's surface from both above and below, kupo!
What's more, rumor has it that a single scaly soul is the source of this massive migration...

for a close encounter of the crawly kind, kupo!

Introducing the Square Enix Security Token
Posted by: Cuer - Tue March 10th, 2009 05:19 pm EST
From the
Official FFXI Site
(March 10):
As a result of growing account security concerns within the online gaming community, Square Enix is proud to introduce the Square Enix Security Token. The token greatly increases the security of PlayOnline accounts by allowing users to log on by using a constantly changing one-time password that is displayed on the screen. The Square Enix Security Token will be available for purchase through the PlayOnline Viewer in the near future for those who wish to take advantage of the added security this optional service provides. As a special incentive, each Square Enix Security Token will come with an exciting in-game bonus which may just prove indispensible during your many adventures in Vana'diel!
Information on the Security Token's release date and price, as well as further details regarding the in-game bonus, will be announced at a later date.

(March 2):
What adventurer hasn't long wished for a roomier receptacle to store the scores of sublime spoils snagged in the course of their abounding adventures across Vana'diel? Take heart, you Greedaloxes -- your wait is over! Don't think you'll be able to procure this prodigious pouch free of charge, though, as the Goblin Bluffnix has devised a devious new assignment to test your mettle. What does the tightfisted taskmaster want from you this time? You'll just have to see for yourself in the upcoming version update!
Get All Dolled Up -- Doll Festival 2009 Approaches!

Get All Dolled Up -- Doll Festival 2009 Approaches!
Kupold:
Yes, adventurers, it's that time of year again! It's a splendid season, where we release all of our pent-up anger and frustration through the most satisfying act of manufacturing makeshift mannequins fashioned after those who annoy us the most, then proceeding to pummel, prick, and inflict a plethora of other pernicious punishments upon them! How do you like that, Kupeliont? Still think I have pamamas for brains, kupo? Take that...and that! Bwahahahaha!
Kupulele:
Er... I don't think it's that kind of Doll Festival, Kupold.
Kupold:
...and that! Who's a smelly stink bat now, Kupeliont? Mwahahahaha!
Ahem! Where was I?
What I meant to say was, yes, the Doll Festival is among our most elegant and refined holidays - an occasion to decorate our domiciles with delightful dolls and pray for the health and happiness of daughters, nieces, and all the angelic little girls who bring such joy into our lives, kupo! Behold! The ever-popular "Festival Dolls" and "Bonbori" lanterns, lovingly crafted by the MHMU's most esteemed artisans!
What's that you say, kupo? Your Mog House is already adorned with accessories from last year's festival?
I should remind you, then, of the time-honored Doll Festival tradition that all such items should be donated to your friendly neighborhood moogle before you will be permitted to acquire anything new for this year.
Kupulele:
Dear adventurers, please pay no mind to Kupold's ridiculous ramblings. You are, of course, free to collect and display as many dolls and lanterns as you wish, and you might even find your good fortunes flourishing as a result!
As you can see, the Doll Festival has something to offer everyone, from delicate young maidens to grizzled, battle-hardened mercenaries. So be sure not to miss out on the festivities, kupo!
Event Schedule
The Doll Festival will daintily tiptoe into town on Friday, February 20th, 2009 at 0:00 a.m. (PST) and sashay elegantly from the scene at the same hour on Tuesday, March 3rd.

Valentione's Day Is Coming!
Posted by: Cuer - Mon Feb 2nd, 2009 7:19 pm EST
Valentione's Day: Love Conquers All!
I've seen many an adventurer in my time, kupo, from blade-brandishing beaus to wand-waving vixens. But none of them ever boasted the ability to read minds, oh no. You understand what I'm getting at, kupo? You don't?
...
Then let me rephrase that in a way you're sure to understand. If you have feelings for someone, let them know! You know how the saying goes: No spilling of guts, no glory, kupo!
What? You say you need a good excuse before you can work up enough courage to approach the object of your abundant affection, kupo? Well then, here's the best one around: Valentione's Day! It's the perfect time of year for incurably shy guys and gals just like you. Consider it a much-needed friendly shove in the back towards realizing a rosy future with the person of your dreams.
Now, now, Master, no need to get jittery, for your target is but one -- favorable odds compared to the hordes of fell beasts you've had to contend with in the past. So, stow away that well-whetted war-axe in favor of some delectably delightful chocolates, and chaaarge! Straight into the heart of love's warm embrace, kupo!
Listen to me, Master. Love helps those who help themselves, and nothing good will ever come your way if you just sit there sulking over a tepid cup of tea inside your Mog House, kupo.
At the very least, I expect to see you out and about and with a spring in your step during the Valentione's Day event. You've got absolutely nothing to lose and all the love in the world to gain, kupo!
Event Schedule
Friday, February 6th, 2009 at 0:00am - Monday, February 16th, 2009 at 0:00am.
