April 2006 FFXI Patch Compilation of Info

The April 17, 2006 Final Fantasy XI patch sets up the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion. As such, it includes all the changes and additions for the three new jobs provided by that expansion: Blue Mage, Corsair, and Puppetmaster. This compilation of info will eventually list all the pertinent information on the additions and changes to the game provided by the April 17 patch, as well as the tweaks made in the following April and May FFXI updates. The rest of the new mobs in the standard zones have been added, along with their drops, including mobs of: Ferry Between Mhaura & Al Zahbi, Ferry Between Al Zahbi & Nashmau, Aydeewa Subterrane, Talacca Cove, Arrapago Reef, Caedarva Mire. If you have any further information regarding the mobs, please leave it in the Monsters of ToAU dicussion topic.
Walkthroughs were added for a number of the 24 new Aht Urhgan quests. Any corrections or additions to those walkthroughs can be posted in the New Quests topic.
The next update to this Compilation of Info will feature info on the rest of the quests, and further updates from the patch.

Mysterious Items

Runic Portal Use Permit	This permit authorizes the use of the runic portals in the Chamber of Passage.

Assault Armband	This armband designates you as the leader of an Assault mission. It bears the symbol of a curved sword.
Antique Automaton	An automaton found on Arrapago Reef. It is no longer functioning.	Used in Quest: No Strings Attached
Red Bell	A Mamool Ja bell, painted red. It makes a clanging sound when swung.
Blue Bell	A Mamool Ja bell, painted blue. It makes a tinkling sound when swung.
Musical Score - 1st Page	A scroll covered in Moblin letters and pictographs. You cannot read the Moblin words, but the pictographs have been drawn to be understandable to Trolls. The score seems to represent a rhythm of some sort.

Twenty-five new quests were added with this patch; one in Jeuno, and the rest in the new zones. Full details of these will be added as they are available, in the quest database entry for each quest. Please post in the forum topic with any further details that you have about the new quests.

New Zones

A number of new zones were added, that are all part of the expansion. These all are part of the four active regions added: West Aht Urhgan, Mamool Ja Savagelands, Halvung Territory, Arrapago Islands. (Technically, The Empire of Aht Urhgan is also listed as a region, although it is just for display on the Besieged Map.)

These zones are not listed on the regular region map; instead, they show up separately in the Besieged Map, displayed with the new /besiegemap command. The new zones are listed below, by region; very little information beyond the maps is currently listed, but they will be soon filled in with zone links and other information.

The Ruins of Alzadaal is a new region in the data files, but does not appear to be in the game at this time; it will likely be added in the next patch. The same is true for the zones listed below, which are listed in the data files and many have maps already made.
