the npc that is supposed to give you access to Aht Urghan is supposed to be found in Lower Jueno in Neptunes Spire. There's supposed to be a couple of ways to get the pass..one is to participate in a challege (I think it involves a coffer in a high level area) two is to give him gil..prolly in the 500k+ range, and another is to give him items. I'm not too sure what those are tho. This is what I was told last night while I was in-game so I'm not too sure how accurate it is.

Heres a quest about getting access to the new areas. There's NPC named Fauresel in the Tenshodo. Here is the exact copy and paste from the .dat file about the items needed to complete it.

"The items on this list are few, so they should fit nicely in your bag, but they are quite difficult t' come by. You can choose from the following: One coffer key from a beastman stronghold--Davoi, Beadeaux, Castle Oztroja, the Temple of Uggalepih, the Den of Rancor, the Quicksand Caves, or the Sea Serpent Grotto. A testimony.・Those ancient scraps of papyrus seem t' be quite popular with collectors these days. I don't know all the details, but apparently there's a testimony for any o' the jobs an adventurer can be. Anyway, I just need one. Your last option is t' bring me chips from Pso'Xja. I'll need a set o' those, though. You'll 'ave to bring me ≺Item Name≻, ≺Item Name≻, and ≺Item Name≻, all three. That's it for the advanced list.You can bring me any one o' the above requests, but if you decide t' bring Pso'Xja chips, I'll need 'em in a set o' three."

Theres some other items you can bring as well: GIL, 3 certain garrison items of which I don't know OR 6 other items that are lower level items.

Ferry Access involves:

- Getting a coffer in a beastman based area: (SSG=Fishies) (Davoi=Orcs) (Beaudeux=Quadav) etc

- Getting a Job Testimoney (your main job or not, unknown)

- Getting 3 Chips from Psjoxia (spelling)

- Money

This is what I've heard.

I suppose those Pso'Xja chips might be the same as the ones in the 'Chips' quest. So you'd need a Carmine Chip, Cyan Chip and Gray Chip, and that goes in sets of three, all dropping from monsters in that area

From what he says, it seems you need any of those, not all. So you can bring him a coffer key, OR a test, OR a set of chips, OR gil (heard it's 500k, but idk).

There is a third hidden option, like the tenshido membership quest that you chouse when speeking to the npc. Then after the CS speek to him again.

The 'beginner' option is both sets of subjob items:

-Bloody robe (Bogies in Dunes and Penninsula)
-Wild Rabbit tail (Mighty Rarabs in the Penninsula)
-Dhamel Spit (Dhamels in the Penninsula)
-Magicked Skull (Ghouls in Dunes and Gusgen)
-Crqb Apron (Snippers in Dunes)
-Damselfly Worm (Damselflies in Dunes)

Turn in all six at once, wait an in-game day, and you're set ^^

caution on the gil, it'll dump you right into Waojam woods, where a 75BRD friend of mine said the lowest mob he saw was EP. :/

Do Not, I repeat, Do Not be a test subject for the NPC Shihu-Danhu in AL Zahbi. It can take you over a half hour to get to Al Zahbi from Jueno. He will warp you to Ru Lude Gardens and there is no way back other then the boat in Mhuara. >.<

For the Puppetmaster quest, it seems to begin with a NPC in Bastok Markets near fountain at F-9 (Sharahanna or something like that).
I got a cut scene and it tells to go to Art Urghan Whitegate to meet another NPC for the quest to continue, but i don't have the extension yet so i can't go...

Update on the warp NPC. Won't just warp you to Jueno. Will warp you to any of the zones surrounding Jueno, including warping you on top of brick ruins in Rollanberry Fields.

i learned an expensive lesson today - and wasted a lot of time
so i'm putting this down for those of you that shouldn't go through what i did:

PUP flag - getting to the reef through the mire
goto: ffxi atlas
print out a copy of Caedarva Mire

after taking the boat to Nashmau exit the north gate into the mire - when you enter you will be facing east - the zone to the reef if @ (I-6) northeast of your current <pos>

going step by step:
[]start out going east and then move south as the path turns
[]at the end of the path there is an open area, follow the left wall - you are now heading east again
[]on the map you printed out there is an area where it looks like you can head north - this is false, its a drop down to your level from above - keep heading east
[]in the northeast corner of the open area with "Deadmist marsh" in it there is a tunnel (like Yuhtunga Jungle) - go through the tunnel
[]on the other side of the tunnel there will be some small ponds with some very LARGE things sleeping in them (i didn't mention sneak or invis, but it's probably better to leave them sleeping) head north from the tunnel and west(left)
[]keep moving west - there will be a thin path between bushes, you will probably be passing some sheep
[]at the end of the path you can go left(south) or right(north) - turn right and head north up the map
[]there will be another tunnel - go through
::warning again:: imps have perfect sight (true vision?)
[]keep heading north and hug the left wall
[]you'll hook around a corner and there might be some lamia standing there
[]this should be as far north as you can go - head west to another tunnel
[]THIS TUNNEL LEADS TO THE REEF

[]enter the reef and head north through some cave area
[]area opens up and there's a ship in front of you - that's the boat you're looking for (the one from the cutscene i think)
[]tab-target until you get ???
[]you can activate the ??? from the upper deck - standing atop the broken stairs
::warning: watch out for skeletons, you can't use the ??? if you're invisible and they will attack you if they can see you::

get the puppet key item and either make your way back, warp, or mijin gakure like i did (i was 22NIN/11RNG when i did this = silent oil, 2 stacks cause i got lost the first time = tonko + stealth + alertness to keep aggro down (i think))

you should pass through (H-9, I-9, J-9, I-9(very upper right corner edge), I-8, I-7, I-6)

they say to set your HP in whitegate to save yourself a long boatride - and if i didn't die getting the automaton anyone can do it... maybe its puller exp. avoiding imps >.>
