Hi from Carbuncle^^

Complete Walkthroughs for Corsair and Blue Mage quests:

An Empty Vessel (Blue Mage job quest)
-------------------------------------

1. Before heading to Al Zahbi, I would recommend that you go and collect the items you may possibly need beforehand: Valkurm Sunsand, Dangruf stone, and Siren's Tear.
.....a. Sunsand ??? appears on the boat in the dunes during earth weather.
.....b. Dangruf stone is from a ??? in the north part of Dangruf Wadi around I/J-5.
.....c. Siren's Tear is at a ??? in North Gustaberg, near a bridge at Obere Creek.

2. Go to Al Zahbi. Find Waould in the southeasternmost square of the map, up the stairs from some merchants in the southwestern corner of that block. Should be at J-10.

3. Waould will ask you a series of questions. Be mean and ruthless when you answer. I believe that the answers you give *may* be based on current job, race and levels of fame. If you "fail", he will ask you for 1000 gil. If you "pass", he will ask you for either a "red stone in a land of geysers" (Dangruf stone), a "blue-tinted gem near a river" (Siren's tear) or something else which must be the Valkurm sunsand.

4. If you passed, wait for the day to change and zone out. Zone back in. Talk to Waould again. He will ask you a question, to which you *must* answer "Your words have spurned me to action." You should be able to trade him the item that he wants now. He'll tell you that the item was actually meant for the mother of a collegue, and asks you to deliver it to Aydeewa Subterenne.

5. Zone into Al Zahbi by going west through Aht Urghan Whitegate. Go north towards the exit marked to Bhaflau Thickets. Zone into the Thickets. If you have purchased a map, you'll see a lighthouse marked in the northeastern part of the map. At level 75 I needed no sneak or invis spell to get around the Thickets, but the spider-type monsters were easy prey and I avoided the big, angry, red ocho-type monsters. Heading northeast towards the lighthouse, you should come to a cave. Zone in. This is Aydeewa Subterenne.

6. From the entrance to the Subeterenne, head down to the first large room and fall into a room with diremites. These may or may not be aggressive to sound. Follow the left wall in this room and you should find yourself going down a long ramp towards a pool. There were people on it when I was there, but rumor has it that leeches are supposed to spawn there also. The pool looks like it has a teleporter on it. Stand there. It should start a cutscene where the Immortals arrive. It is important that you answer yes to both questions that the Immortal asks you. That will continue the cutscene.

7. At the end of the cutscene, you will receive the Mark of Zahak. Congratulations, you can now become a Blue Mage! Your title should read "Bearer of the Mark of Zahak". The quest "An Empty Vessel" will show on your completed quest log for Aht Urghan.

Luck of the Draw (Corsair job quest)
------------------------------------

1. Begin this quest by talking to Ratihb. You can find him in the Shararat Teahouse in the Aht Urghan Whitegate. You will see a cutscene between the man and his son, and afterwards he will ask you to go check up on the kid.

2. Go to the east gate and talk to a gate guard. You will see another cutscene where the Corsairs and Blue Mages have an altercation with one another.

3. Go to Nashmau by taking the ferry. Make sure you get on the boat to Nashmau and *not* the boat to Mhaura. Take the northern exit from Nashmau to the Caedarva Mire and work your way to Arrapago Reef. This is in the northwestern part of this side of the map. An exact path can be found here. If you have the map in-game, the exit to the Reef is *not marked*. It is, however, at (I-6).

4. On your way through the Mire, stop at (I-7) and look for a ??? point. It should be on the south side of a water pit with a doomed mob and some Oil Slicks. These are slime-type mobs and are aggressive to sound. You do not lose sneak by clicking on the ???. Clicking the ??? will reward you with a Lamian Fang Key. Don't lose it.

***NOTES*** The imps in the Mire are true sight. They hit *hard*. Be very careful to look for them. The slime-type and undead-type monsters are aggressive to sound. The lamia-type mobs are aggressive to sight.

5. When you get to Arrapago Reef, hug the left-most path. You will have to go across a boat with some lamia on it, so make sure you are invisible. Take the east ramp from the boat and follow it all the way down, then back up the hill to the tunnel on the other side. I was also sneaking, so I do not know if the little frog-like men are aggressive to anything. Go into the tunnel, sneaking and invisible because there will be lamia and undead on the way to the gate.

6. If you didn't get a Lamian Fang Key in the Reef, shame on you. You will have to either go all the way back out to the Mire to get it from the ??? or alternately kill skeletons for it. When you get the key, go through the iron gate. Sneak; there are skeletons and ghosts on the other side. When you go through the gate, take the first left. You should come to another gate. Go through.

7. On the boat directly in front of you, there will be a ???. Click it for a cutscene. After the cutscene, escape. Make your way back through Caedarva Mire to Nashmau.

8. Exit Nashmau from the west. This will zone you into the westernmost part of the Caedarva Mire map. Go north through the cemetary and into a tunnel. This will zone you into Talacca Cove.

9. In the Cove, follow the leftmost path. You should come to a ??? on a large rock. Click the ??? to receive a key item, Forgotten Hexagun, and to watch a small cutscene. Keep going along this path and you will come to a rock slab. Click it. This is the last cutscene you will see for this quest.

10. At the end of the cutscene, you should find yourself with Corsair's die. Congratulations, you can now become a Corsair! You should get the title "Seagull Phratrie Crew Member". The quest "Luck of the Draw" will show in your completed quest log for Aht Urghan.

for all who are having trouble, get the map quest finished before doing your job quests.
info from Mystertour website helped
The Prankster
Zone Philosopher's Alley, Aht Urhgan Whitegate
NPC Alcander / Ahaadah
Start
Summary Alcander and Ahaadah want you to help Tinga-Matonga become a respectable citizen.

Walk Through:
Talk to Ahaadah (Upper Floor) For Cut Scene. Go to Southern Port area around (I-11) and wait for Cut Scene by the corner barrel tent. Go to second level above water barrels (I-11) to the end around (I-12) for another long cut scene. Now its time to fight the NM Chigoe. YAY! I would not recommend being brave and fighting this solo at lvl 74 or 75 as last night I saw many dead Level 70-75 Warriors, Monks and DD's :) this little guy has a wicked punch. I recommend a good party for the NM Chigoe we had an alliance not hard to get as everyone is try to do it..

Go to Bhaflau Thickets and examine ??? (I-8). Plague Chigoe (Chigoe) NM comes out. Defeat the Chigoe and check the ??? one more time this will give you another cut scene and your MAP!

Update on the warp NPC. Won't just warp you to Jueno. Will warp you to any of the zones surrounding Jueno, including warping you on top of brick ruins in Rollanberry Fields.

Where is this NPC?

Right by the Mog house area in Al Z(however you spell it)

Go into the Al Zahbi area. Go to the residential area there. As you stand at the entrance to the residential area, turn around. The taru warp guy is standing on some boxed on the opposite wall. So far i've ended up in Sauromonge, Rolanberry, Batallia and Ru'Lude lol. Great way to get back to Jeuno when you're finished.

allouette - french for lark (a bird)
lobo - spanish for wolf
histrion - French for player (or actor)
bobeche- french and english for little crystal collar placed on candlesticks to catch wax drippings (usually decorative)
loustie - i found this as a defintion of idiomatic french - seems to mean clown (bobeche was also there)
quenotte - seems to be the name of a beaver on an animated french children's program
serenade {s-air-en-odd) is a song or to sing (english from french)
comedie - comedy

you'll have to get an actual french speaker to check it over, but these are the best translations/explanations i can find

I don't speak much French, but from what I remember,
- Allouette is the bird in the famous kid's song about ripping body parts off a bird (ya, rly)(allouette, gentille alouette, alouette, je te plumerai)
- loustie sounds like "l'oustie". I really don't know the spelling, but it's a minor curse word at least where I grew up :)
- this guy from France in my LS was suggesting that quenotte sounds like slang for fellatio, but I can neither confirm nor deny that :)
- and also histrionics means
1 : theatrical performances
2 : deliberate display of emotion for effect
so that's a good one :)

The NPC is a Tarutaru standing on a box. If you come out of the Al Zahbi Mog House he's to the right. His name is Sihhu-Danhu or something like that.

i saw a person with a automon named "Poppo" i believe
so this must mean that there is a second NPC that can change the name of your automon (just like drg) - unless they were given a different list than i was to choose from initially

Map of Caedarva Mire

the quest is called The Prankster and it is quite long. it does help navagate, I found having the map quite useful so far. besides i love maps :)

some important notes.. the Cut Scene locations on two differnet occations are not trigered by anything targeted.... just being in the area of the Cut Scene will trigger it.

the free warp is by the mog house in Al Zhabi (the zone besieged is in) if u wanna pay a silver AU piece, there's another taru by the Whitegate moghouse (the zone the docks are in). The free warp will take u close to the enterance of jeuno in Sauromauge, Rolanberry, Batallia or Qufim, or straight ro Ru Lude. For a silver AU piece, the other npc will take you straight to jeuno. I'm not sure wich part because I'd rather walk for 30 seconds to get to jeuno than use up precious Imperial standing on Jeuno warps.

The free warp's location can also send you closer or farther away depending on the ... oh, carp, which one is it now that I'm posting from work... >.> i think the astral candescense...depending on its favor, You could end up bottom of rolanberry near Pashow, or right in Ru'Lude Gardens as mentioned.
