Adventurer Appreciation Campaign

Adventurer Appreciation Campaign

As of May 16, FINAL FANTASY XI will celebrate four years of service! In gratitude for everything adventurers have done for Vana'diel, the moogles are holding another Adventurer Appreciation Campaign. You can see reports on your battle history, and have the chance to receive some great items! Join your friends and bask in the appreciation of Vana'diel's citizens!

Adventurer Appreciation Campaign

Even the heads of state agree that the safety of our nations, the security of our cities, and the peaceful lives of our citizens are all made possible through the tireless efforts of Vana'diel's adventurers.

And now those same adventurers have taken the battle against evil and chaos to the lands of the Near East. It will only be a matter of time before the nation of Aht Urhgan also comes to appreciate their invaluable contributions...

It is time for adventurers to reap the rewards of their service!
Once again, the nations of San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst will become the stage for the Adventurer Appreciation Campaign.

During the planned events, adventurers will receive gifts of gratitude from the townspeople and hear detailed reports of their conquests in battle (based on data secretly collected by the M.H.M.U.).

Behind this display of appreciation, perhaps there is a desire to stem the tide of adventurers leaving for Near Eastern shores...
In any case, the citizens of Vana'diel have the following message for their beloved heroes:

Adventurers great and small, you have our heartfelt gratitude!
Your dedication and courage have made Vana'diel the wonderful place it is today!

Event Locations
Southern San d'Oria
Northern San d'Oria
Bastok Mines
Bastok Markets
Windurst Waters
Windurst Woods

Event Schedule
This event is scheduled to begin on May 11 at 17:00 and end on May 31 at 0:00 (PDT).

No, this is something they do every year (since at least 2004, as far as I can remember). Each year you have the opportunity to get some items, sort of like the other events. However, I can't really remember what items have been available in the previous years.

If by "cool items" they mean Outpost Rings or that kind, I'm staying out of this event >.> But then again, it's already buyable in CP so it's gotta be something new... I didn't even do the Feast of Swords quest because I wasn't interested in the items you'll get...

This sounds a lot like the aniversary event 2 years ago where Gold/Silver/Brone Moogle Belts were available, as well as the Chocobo Wand and the certificate furnishing.

Talking to the moogle gave a bunch of stats including # of deaths or parties as well as more useless information.

Dont know for sure if this is going to be that same event.

They had this event last year as well. Some of the prizes were chocobo tickets and the colored drops that you can/did get during the Easter egg event as well as some of the others. Overall, I was disappointed last year with the prizes. I was expecting something like the Moogle medals...

If im not mistaken, last year they also gave you the server stats in the POL viewer, like Server with Most Deaths and most lvl75s and stuff like that. Im pretty sure i remember seeing something like that, may have been the 2 year anniversary

This event marks the release of FFxi in Japan, about 6 months later it was released in NA on the PC, 6 months later or 1 year after the offical Japanese release marks the PS2 version. Basically its a census information not only for each character but each server and how they compare to one another. By census they record every mob killed, every party joined, every chat messege, every time you died, and even the number of times you called a GM. The prizes issued were not very clear by the time I had reached the 1 year anniversary (japan release) so I missed out on atlease a bronze mog belt. There use to be a ranking system more or less rating your progress in the game. I had made rank 17 by that time and the people I joined with only rank 12. The number of jobs leveled, advance jobs opened and leveled, quests and missions effect your ranking. By the time of the 2nd anniversary (japan release) they had done away with the ranking system and most if not all the rare/ex items offered. People tend to laugh or dismiss the warning in the opening about neglecting family, friends, and your life. When you see your census information you'll understand why. /playtime 190 days+ I guess some people just dont have a life. =)

As of right now the event has begun, but all it's saying is that you have the option of taking the prize right away or 'waiting' and building up suspense. Has anyone taken the prize right away? I waited ^.^;

How long do you have to wait before you can get the prize? I chose to wait and now I can’t seem to get it.

Out of curiosity, Catatonic and cxz, what are your levels, rank and fame in your starting city? How many (roughly) quests have you done? I'm curious what affects these kind of things have on your prize. Even though my highest job is only level 28, I have a really good amount of fame (level 4 in San D'Oria) and am 3/4 of the way to rank 4 already.

It'd be cool if people included this kind of info in their posts concerning the prizes they get.

I'm not quite clear... can you get an item from each moogle? An item from a moogle in each city on the same day?

Could you run around to each moogle in every city and get 3 items a day?
