I have had the luck to receive Gold Moogle Belt and Chocobo Wand back to back, so I wish to share the exact steps I took to get these two items. I started this event on the first day and chose wait for first 3 days in a row. Each time I took the earliest airship available to town to talk to moogle each day. In between each of these days, I EXP a little. On the first 4th day, I received a Gold Moogle Belt. I then repeated the same exact steps waited 3 days in a row and on the second 4th day, I chose "Let me think about it" first and then I received the Chocobo Wand after I chose to get prize. Tonight will be my third 4th day, I will post again what I receive tonight. But so far, I personally believe that the wait option enhances the rewards. I did not note the elemental day I received these two gifts so I cannot comment on that. I can however comment that it should not be necessary to talk to moogles from different city each time since on my second time, I talked to Bastok moogles 2 times in a row. I have played this game since NA release and have several high level jobs. Although I do not know how stats affect this event, I just wish to provide the info. The last time this event occurred, I only received the Silver Moogle Belt. I hope this helps. ~ Death

Update: I received Return Ring on my third 4th day. I forgot to mention I have received Homing Ring on the second Adventure Appreciation event. So that is 3 rare/ex items in a row for using the wait 3 days get gift 4th day method. Since the event is ending soon, I may switch to using wait 2 day get gift 3rd day method. Good luck! ~ Death

I personally think your stats have nothing to do with the quality of the items you receive though. Same thing goes with the "days of the week" and whathaveyou. Today will be the day after I waited 3 days in a row for all 3 of my charas. I'll let you guys know what happens. For now, I still think that it's totally random. The bad part about possessing Rare/EX items is that the prizes aren't all Rare/EX items. Sure, you may have a Homing Ring, or a Return Ring, but that doesn't mean that the Moogles can't give you Fireworks or Chocobo Tickets. Your odds will improve only if ALL the prizes are Rare/EX (or just Rare since you can have only 1 of those in your inventory). But since Fireworks and Chocobo stuff are not... you still have the possibility of getting more crappy items, or worse... having 2 copies of the Chocobo Wand (it's only EX, so that means you can have 2 or more copies of that). In that case I'd rather have another copy of a Chocobo Ticket than get another copy of the Chocobo Wand since I already got one.
Yeah, this event is kinda screwed up in a certain way, but look at the bright side... it ain't as crappy as the 2005 Starlight Celebration.

Sorry have to fix something I said before. I will do it in terms of timeline to make it easier.
Adventurer Appreciation Event 1: Adventurer's Certificate, Silver Moogle Belt, miscellaneous non-R/E items
Adventurer Appreciation Event 2: Homing Ring, miscellaneous non-R/E items
Adventurer Appreciation Event 3: Gold Moogle Belt, Chocobo Wand, Return Ring
I forgot to mention I have also received the Adventurer's Certificate as well since the first event. Assuming my information is correct, I am missing the Bronze Moogle Belt and the chocobo stable collars as far as R/E items are concerned. I have received and used up then tossed those R/E collars from previous event. I recommend wait 3 day get gift 4th day to maximize R/E item acquisition. But since time is short now, I recommend maybe wait 2 day get gift 3rd day method instead. ~ Death

I've tried a two-day Wait before, and got a Chocopass. I've gotta try now though: After losing SEVEN days waiting and getting junk (2x 1 Wait, 1x 2 Wait), I've nine days left to get THREE items.
Stupid Europe. They'd better make these items available and not so random next year. It's going to COMPLETELY mess me up, because I know at least one of these three-waiters is gonna give me a Chocopass.
And of course either way I won't be able to dual weild Chocobo Wands for better digging, which annoys the heck out of me.

I just wish to note something else that is interesting. I equipped my Chocobo Wand and found out that the illustration of it equipped on my char is different from that of http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=5144. Mine looks more wooden with actual wood-like texture on it as opposed to smooth, and the color is more wood-brown as opposed to yellow. Has anyone else noticed this? Perhaps this is a way to tell the difference between the Chocobo Wands from Adventurer Appreciation Event 1 and 3? Or even more intriguingly...perhaps there is more than one version of Chocobo Wand to collect, which is why it is only labeled EX. ~ Death

Adding to Titan - Deathuponyou's post above, I've just waited two days (Day 1 - Wait, Day 2 - Don't speak to Moogle, Day 3 - Gimme my present!) and it got me the Chocobo Wand.
That of course means nothing, but considering I've repeatedly got a Chocopass even by Waiting a day, I'd say that I'm a pretty unlucky guy when it comes to this event, and if I can get the arguable best reward from this event from a 48-hour wait, then everyone else should be able to as well.

i got a homing ring, a little comet, a bronze moogle belt, a silver moogle belt, and chocopasses
i got the chocopasses today without a wait, without doing anything besides waiting 24 hours and talking to the moogle again
i got the silver moogle belt without wait, without doing anything besides waiting 24 hours and talking to the moogle again
so perhaps it's all random - perhaps its random depending on the day you talk to the moogle
only 5 days left >.>

Update again: This time I was less patient, and since I wished to use myself as a test subject (having received Chocobo Wand and Gold Moogle Belt), I decided to only wait one day and to claim my gift the next day. I am on JP time. I chose wait Thursday night around 7PM, and claimed my gift Friday at 12:30AM or so (basically right after the JP midnight reset). So the wait lasted only about 5 or so hours. I received the Kingdom Stables Collar. I am not sure if this necessarily means anything, but certainly maybe waiting even just once can lower chance of chocopass and chocobo ticket. I will do wait 2 day and claim 3rd day for my next gift. I also wish to add that I received both my Gold Moogle Belt and Chocobo Wand in San'Doria and Return Ring and Kingdom Stables Collar from Bastok, if location even matters. I have chosen wait at Windurst before. I am also trying to get a second Chocobo Wand to dual-wield as well as test my thoery that there are different designs for them. ~ Death

This is my first time not waiting and claiming gift right away. I got Free Chocopass then tossed it lol. So for sure, I will choose to wait at least once before ever claiming gift again. Still 4 days left so possible best combos include wait 1 get 1 twice or wait 2 get 1 then claim right away for last day. I am hoping for one more Chocobo Wand or Bronze Moogle Belt. BTW, you can store your Chocobo Wand at NPC, which I did to get space for other items. ~ Death

Four days left. I chose to wait yesterday (six days left), and will pick up my gift tomorrow (two days' wait). What happens then is up to what I get.
• If I get a Gold Moogle Belt, I'll Wait and pick up my final gift two days later (for a possible second Chocobo Wand or -maybe- Silver Moogle Belt).
• If I get a second Chocobo Wand (or junk) I'll Wait and pick up my final gift two days later for another shot at the Gold Belt (or a second Chocobo Wand).
I think a "best case" scenario for me would be to get two wands and the Gold belt, but fail to get the Silver belt. At least that way I don't miss out stat-wise for losing my perfect EU version event collection.

Haha, turned out I got a Silver Moogle Belt.
I'll Wait twice and get my last item on the final day. If it's a Gold Moogle Belt, my collection is "complete" in that I have one of everything, and if it's a Chocobo Wand I can ride birds for five minutes more with a Ninja sub.
Of course, it'll be a Free Chocopass, because that's all this event has ever really been about.
