The April 2006 FFXI Patch Compilation of Info is up!

Last Updated: Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 4:15AM EDT

Latest Update:

* All of the NPCs in the new cities (in Aht Urhgan Whitegate, in Al Zahbi, and in Nashmau) have been added, and their item sales are reflected in the item lists.
* A continual train of updates have been made to the new recipes, as details are figured out about them all. If you have further information about any of the new recipes, be sure to post it in the New Recipes discussion.

Someone explain the Algol to me, cause I'm really confused. A greatsword that can only be used by drk, pld, and war, yet it has triple attack +3%? Isn't thf the only job with triple attack? And it's too high to be a subjob skill. Perhaps it's gonna be a trait you can get through merits?

I have the feeling the Corsair cards are going to be like Utsusemi tools -_-; I hope we can buy them in a shop somewhere when we need them instead of having people craft them and sell them for outrageous prices ><

It grants Triple Attack and enhances it for those who already have it, like "Enhances Killer Effects" adds them for those who don't have.

I dont think thats how it works. The brutal Earring Enhances Double Attack Effect
http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/7502
But you dont need to sub warrior for it to work. That is one of the things that makes the brutal earring so powerfull. I double attack all the time with my brutal earring SAM/THF.

I think this will work that way as well.

The "Enchances Triple Attack" effect works the same way as it does for indra katars, and brutal earings, and many many other items. In that if you don't have the trait, the item grants it to you.

I hate to say it but it looks like the elemental cards for Corsairs are gonna be just like Ninjitsu tools, crafted only. And you add the fact that you also need to be using a gun and bullets, I think Corsair is going to become the most expensive job of them all. Looks like I'm gonna need to step up my alchemy and smithing (gold/black) skills. As the attachments for the automaton are also craft only using the same skill sets.

Anyone else notice that they released 3 new jobs but failed to include the AF sets?

it simply adds triple attack to the person weilding the weapon, there are some H2H that do the same, and a dagger, (triple dagger) it doesn't "enhance" it just adds the trait to your character, and you don't need thf to have the trait active

The AF is in game data, but they are just called ".", and no stats are shown.

well by defaule they would have triple attack at 0%
and 0% + 3% = 3% so it should activate 3% of the time

I hope you'll add NMs and monsters (probably as subheadings under zones) to this Update page.

Yeah, corsair is going to be expensive; but i have a feeling just from looking at the materials list of items to make automaton attachments that puppetmaster is going to be only for the insanely rich players. everything takes mythril and other items, and its all goldsmithing and alchemy and takes guild abilitys to make, exploitation (you can have this) :/ anyways that just my two cents.

No, you can buy the cards in Nashmou, across the ship from the port in the northern part of ahgt urgen whitecastle, and they are pretty cheap...just like the puppet master attatchments can be bought there as well, so its not going to be ALL that expensive....
