Some things I noticed browsing the Cooking recipes list:

Peperoncino should be level 23 (maybe 24), not 28
Tentacle Sushi should be 58 (maybe 59), not 60
There's a second Fish & Chips recipe that uses 1 Blindfish instead of 2 Tiger Cod
The Blackened Newt recipe that uses Phananauet Newt seems to be one level higher than the Elshimo Newt recipe.

The first day of the expansion, I was dying to work on some of the NPC upgrades. Since no guides were available yet, I decided to test out my sherlock skills (which ended up being talk to every NPC in Jeuno for #4 lol). Anyway, quick walkthrough for the next NPC quest:

1.) Talk to Luto, she'll ask you to find a book in Windy
2.) Go to Windurst Waters to the Opistery, talk to the main guy in there... in the CS one of his cohorts will ask for 6 food items. It will cost about 60-65k to get those 6 items (people jacked up the prices and last night someone told me prices were up to 200k on Titan)
3.) Talk to Luto again... pretty interesting CS that mentions "Aht Urhgan" directly for the first time! She calls it the "Empire of Aht Urhgan" meaning it is probably gonna be a gigantic city.
4.) Talk to a Mithra walking around by the Signet guard in Port Jeuno... you will get a fatty CS and finish this quest... there is an alusion to Luto being a mischevious character and you are left with 2 clues to the next quest: find the metal to put the mirror back together and find the author fo the book.

I got a message saying my relationship with my NPC has strengthened. What this means beats me.... I noticed no new options in the menu. My guess is that I can use NPC in dungeons or cap is increased to 55. Honestly I would have done this quest for the CS alone.

Carapace Powder (Bonecraft 21 - Minimum)
Crystal: Wind Crystal
Ingredients:
Crab Shell x2

One question here: are there two recipes for this Carapace Powder, and if so do they both seem to cap at 21 Bonecraft? I have that recipe as using 2 Beetle Shells, which fits the description. Was the recipe given with 2 Crab Shells, as well? I don't want to add another recipe if they aren't both listed... any further digging into this would be appreciated.
I'll look into that again when I go back to Windurst and check out the Clothcraft recipes (just for the heck of it).

Some of the item links in the compilation are pointing to news items (for example: http://ffxi.somepage.com/news/1234) rather than the item database itself (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/1234).

Keep up the good work!

Something I found out about the exp rings.

If you buy one, use it up, toss it, etc. you can't buy the other one.

So not only can you not have both in inventory, and not only can u only buy one per conquest, you may also not buy that TYPE of item within the same tally twice.

Also, although AF1+1 would be nice for pre-AF2 usage, I'm wondering how exactly AF+1 stacks up against AF2.

Um at least for sam some of these pieces pwn pwn pwn

You can buy another, but you need to wait until after the conquest update. but dont throw it away as its cheaper to re-charge it by trading it to the CP-Vendor Guards

Thanks for sharing this, I too was at a loss looking for the lil girl. A side note, everything but the Bison Steak for the items required, can be bought via NPC, the whitefish stew depends on Windurst being in 1st or 2nd place, but it can still save a chunk of gil if you run around to buy instead of stopping at the Jeuno AH for everything.

Bison steak, whitefish stew, white bread, windurst salad, icecap rolanberry, sandorian tea.

Here's what ive gathered so far about the Chart Quest

Pre Quest: Inside the Belly
Fish: Bhelfin Marlin
Charts: Pirate's Chart and Brigand's Chart
Locations: Buburimu Peninsula and Valkrum Dunes

Details: Fish Selbina/Mhaura Ferry and Fish Bhelfin Marlins. I use Composite and Sliced Bluetail as bait. Take the fish to Zaldon in Selbina Fishing Guild. You have a chance of getting either of the two Charts. If not he rewards you with 150gil.

Brigand's Chart:

Go to Buburimu Peninsula and trade it to the ??? at Khoonta Beach. This is a One person event(Note: I had party members that could still kill the mobs that I pulled up and didn't get the lvl cap). Lvl cap is 20. The Old man wants you to fish up his Penquin Ring from the water. You will see it shining in the water. I assume if your lucky you'll get the ring, but all I got was 2 treasure chest that both contained Wooden Flowerpots(rare). I also fished up 500gil and a mob(Puffer Pugil). I only got about 4 cast out of it before the time expired.

Pirate's Chart:

Go to Valkrum Dunes and trade it to the ??? at Whitebone Beach. This is a 4 person event. My suggestion is to bring 2 blm or bard(sleepers) and a Tank. The little taru warns you that theres 3 of them comming!! A Manta type mob, Sahgin type mob, and a Crab type mob will spawn. Sleep 2 mobs and have tank start fighting the 3rd one. All this time you should be fishing like crazy to get the ring. I've only done this once and we only had 3 of us. The 3rd one killed me before it could be slept. I managed to fish up a Tarutaru Snare from the water before I died.

Once I do this more I will update^^

Items so far:

Wooden Flowerpot(Rare): Furnishing, A Simple Flowerpot made of wood. Light+1 Storage+1

Tarutaru Snare(Rare/Ex): Use item, This traditional Tarutaru snare is a magical net that has the ability to weaken its catch.

Note: I know Novice and up can turn the fish into Zaldon, but am unsure about anything below that.

Thanks much for the new info and corrections, folks! All the recipes should be updated/added that were listed here, along with many more; if you see more info for any that aren't listed in the compilation of info, please post them so that can get completed. I'll be adding information regarding the new fishing mini-quests as well, so those are helpful to see. Further data on the new furniture items is also helpful.

The other recipes mentioned should all be updated. What's the recipe/level that this second recipe is listed as?

Bird Blood is dropped by Labyrinth Leeches in Labyrinth of Onzozo (not sure if the ones in Gustav also drop it; I doubt it, since there are no birds there). Pretty common drop; I was getting one almost every kill with TH2.
