Valentione's Day

To everything there is a season, and the time to tell that special someone how you feel is drawing near. Valentione's Day will soon be upon Vana'diel once again!

Valentione's Day commemorates the story of a courageous squire named Valentione, who fell in love with a noblewoman regardless of their gap in social status. He confessed his love in the form of a gift, and succeeded in stealing her heart.

On Valentione's Day, the inhabitants of Vana'diel show their feelings by giving the person they care about a present, such as chocolate.

Still, it can be hard to confess to someone...
Someone you are so used to seeing...
Someone you always enjoy conversing with...
Someone you always adventure with...
That's why that person is special, right? But it takes a lot of courage to take it to the next level!

And that's where the moogles come in to help! They have devised a plan to bring eligible bachelors and bachelorettes of the three major nations together. Not only that, but they even claim that their fantabulous, splenderrific event (the moogle head planner's exact words) will help adventurers come together, too!

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at playing Cupid, you will get your chance soon!

One last word from the Mog House Management Union (M.H.M.U.): We're waiting for you all with wonderful prizes that will let you show your love forever and ever, kupo!

The even has started! ^^ A tip for people starting this, the different NPCs will RANDOMLY ask for a certain mate, you can test this by going and talking to the appropriate sex NPC for your character in town, then go talk to the moogle and say you want to quit. Restart, and go talk to the same NPC again. This means there is no "specific" mate located somewhere in another city, it's randomly going to be matched via someone else doing the event. ><

I did this quest with a friend in my party. I'm a mithra, he's a Hume male. Each NPC he talked asked for a mate. I talked to the NPC mate they requested and they wanted chocolates from the corresponding NPC he had already talked to. Don't know if this works everytime or not. We are going to give it a try tomorrow for the +1 versions of the Charm Wand. Its nice being given an option of what items you want for completing the quest.

Please make note that the hume female in windy NPC is in the SOUTHERN map section. The other 3 npcs are in the northern half. The northern half aalso has a corresponding j-9 near the moogle houses but no npc. That took me (literally) 25 minutes and many shouts to figure out

Do you need to have the wand equipped while doing the 2nd run of excellent matches to be offered wand +1? I just did 2nd round of excellent, but the wand +1 was not offered. I had the wand on me, but not equipped. Anyone know?

I had the wand equipped and both of us got "Excellent" but I did not get the +1 Wand. She already had it from another day.

After getting the wand the first round, we didn't have wand equipped while doing it a second time, got Excellent.. no Wand +1. The third time, we equipped the wand, got Excellent, and got the wand +1

There is a new moogle near the chocolate re[air moogle... the new moogle says something like "carry the rod and deliver happiness..." then something about your "furtune" ??? any ideas?

Current Known Issue for Valentione's Day

An issue where players are unable to obtain "Twilight Crystal" from the Valentione's Day's prize has been confirmed.

When players select "Twilight Crystal" for the prize, moogle instead hands out an "Aurora Crystal." Please be very careful not to select "Twilight Crystal" if you do not want "Aurora Crystal" as a prize.

Anyone had any problems trying to use the charm wand to reraise someone?
Me and two of my friends were in Giddeus when 1 of them got separated and killed. Me and my other friend then repeatedly tried to reraise him with our charm wands, but those just stopped casting around 10 or 20 percent of the casting process. Luckily after about half an hour a high level white mage came by and revived him, but we were really annoyed the charm wand wasn't functioning properly.
Oh and this happened on the the xbox360-only Hydra server by the way.

If this event is similar to other events which awarded useable items (trick staff for example) chances are the normal wand is good for 10 uses and then it's just a momento, while the +1 wand will re-charge every 5? days

the list of Npc's in bastok mines is wrong you have the elven female and the hume female switched.

I had some issue with it too. I had to keep trying...I think it worked on the 20th or so. Its considered a club. I don't have any club skill, so maybe that is a factor.
