I hope this update don't take hours upon hours upon hours upon even MORE hours to download. Since all NM / HNMs timers are reset on updates, i suggest logging off next to where NMs spawn. This is also a good time to get some data on some NMs, such as that new Hecteyes in Rangument Pass (Taisajin or something.) Or that NM in the jungle that drops the rare/ex lvl 40 ring. (forgot name). Just thought I'd post that in case someone can log off near one and log on quick. Then you can come back within a certain amount of time or something and see if it respawns, like check to see if its a 21-24hr spawn or not.

New THF ability!?!?!?!?!?!? ((((((゜Д゜))))))

I don't believe you!

BLM won't be nerfed.. It's been the main overpowered damage class for years and years now...

SE said in a (somewhat) recent interview:

The Black Mages have been way too strong and ever since we released the game, and we've been trying to make them weaker.

look, that interview is BS, a company doesn't say things like that about their own games.. BLM is not way too powerful, if they pull hate, they'll most likey die, it all works out. if they "nerf" BLM like they have RNG in the past, EVEN MORE people will leave the game which SE really doesn't want. when will they learn they need to make the game more enjoyable and not screw more people over every update?

That's an actual interview, but keep in mind that it's all translated from Japanese, so some things get lost in the translation. People have gotten all up in arms about what was said there, but in my view it's just a typical "oh we're looking at balancing everything" response that he used elsewhere in the interview, such as the very next question. It was mainly just a response to the question given; if they really want to come out and announce a change/nerf, they will, but don't go reading too much into that interview.

There's no point in speculating what might be added with this patch; we'll know once they start telling us. As for new jobs and such, if anything like that is introduced, it will almost certainly be in the next expansion (which itself won't be done until after the X360 FFXI release.)

In short, let's keep this discussion to the topic at hand; the next update, and what's been mentioned as being in it. Groundless speculation about other changes is just silly.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the "expect additions to the Fellowship system" mentioned, most of all. My NPC Fellow is 48 now, and about to get to the level 50 cap on them... so hopefully they'll raise the cap and add new ways to interact with them, as well. Extending the time limit would be nice too, to make the Fellows more useful overall.

Lower Promyvion !!!!!

Looks like Northern Al'Taieu will finally, finally, be unlocked this patch. Good for those with sea access.

I am VERY Curious as to what Lower Promyvion and Ou'Hpat Obelisk are like...

I sure hope they actually fix the exp in level capped areas this time, would be much nicer to exp with your friends without having to deal with level gaps

The last 2 version updates I have been really pleased with... so I'm anxiously awaiting this one. New areas and a fellowship update, yes please.

I agree with Cuer... don't expect any new jobs on this update. That would certainly come with the next boxed expansion which won't be for a long long time. Since there isn't a thread on the next boxed expansion yet, just a few thoughts.

This isn't so much speculation as an educated guess... Zilart was launched to coincide with the US launch and Promathia was launched to coincide with the European launch. You don't want to do a major launch (cough, XBOX360) only to release an expansion a month or two later and make everyone who just bought the game shell out another $30. So either the next boxed expansion will released around the same time as the XBOX360 launch and included with the XBOX version (highly unlikely but I can always wish) or it will be released several months after the XBOX360 launch. It would not be unfeasable to have the expansion launch with the PS3 version of the game, and that would be my best guess.

One more little tidbit.. while there is nothing to confirm this yet except for that fact that it wasn't denied by Tanaka... the title for the next expansion could be: "Treasures of Aht Urhgan."

Also, some of the new content for the expansion can be hinted at in most recent Vana'diel Tribune towards the bottom in the Wide Wold of Vana'diel (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/vt2/10/re12.html). Here are some exerpts:

"There is a great nation even further south than the founders of Kazham came from"
"The Orcish Empire and the islands where the Gigas live"
"Also, there is the Gugru Blue that lies east of Mindartia, and beyond that lies a place called the 'Near East.' My special missor is originally from there"

Sounds like a crapload of new areas and all this info is coming directly from square. While it could be included in the next version update, it sounds like food for thought regarding the next boxed expansion.

I heard that some new jobs considerations, was gonna be a Blue Mage also. But I'd suspect that it will come out after the Xbox360. In Addition to what I have heard, the FFX1 Team, has also looked back on past games for new jobs, the top five on their lists are Blue Mage, Elementalist, Berserker, Fighter, and Morpher. Yes, i know it sounds unheard of, but since someone else mentioned another DD besides BLM they considered putting Berserker out. The FFX1 Team continues to run the sencerios as to which jobs are better, and this list continues to change. As my opinion on what they decide to, I will see that much of these jobs will bring out a mess load of new equipment, NPC's, and quests. I only hope that they decide quickly becuase i am excited to try 'em out. ^^
