update on the quest: Blighted Gloom

No idea what I did that made the quest available.
According to .dat pulls people have made, Luto will send you to either Korroloka Tunnel, Ordelle's Cave, or Ranguemont Pass to look for Vitrallum. You must find a ???point in the area that will spawn a Metallic Slime (or at least that was the case in ranguemont pass for me).

When you bring the vitrallum back to Luto, she will tell you that you must find a spring of clear water. Go to Jugner Forest and look for the ??? (I'll leave the adventure of finding it to the next person to get the quest). You will get a cutscene with some mysterious unnamed person.

You will get the misson complete sound at the end of the cutscene, and that is the end of the quest.

Wheres the ??? in the forest?

Update on the Promyvion NPC quest: There are ???s on every floor, the higher floor you go to the more XP you get. I got 1440 on my first run from just doing the 2nd floor, 3rd is probably around 2100 and 4th around 3000.

I have 2 kinda noobish questions even though my NPC is lvl 51.
Since my Npc has always been an attacker, if i change to healer style, will he still be 51.
And, when i change to healer style, does healer style also engange in combat, or just sit back and cast spell?

A friend of mine was telling me about this. Apparently his NPC became a RDM when 'healer' was selected. NPC:
meleed the mob,
cast buffs on PC (Shell2 & Protect3[?]),
healed the PC,
debuffed the mob (Dia etc),
performed WS when the PC performed one.

This sounds like the best of both worlds to me, without that pesky "Provoke" being thrown in. I've dropped my pearl too many times so I need to raise my affinity with my NPC before I can switch jobs to do this & confirm it.

I am not too sure if changing their job would keep their level or not, for I too am skeptical at losing it by changing their job. However, I do know that your NPC will melee with you regardless of what job they are. Hope that clears up at least one thing for you. ^^

Yes, if you change to healer style your NPC will still be lvl 51 (since they only have styles rather than actual jobs).

And yes, healer style will engage in combat as usual, though they'll lose the random double attack that attacker style has, and gain auto-regen in place of it.

Your NPC will still be lvl 51 even if you set him as Healer. And yes, he will attack the target even if you set him as a healer, he will cast enfeebling, enchancing and some healing magic when your health is low.

Go through King Ranp Tomb, where King Arthro spawn. There are two ??? points there - the one you want is closer to the lake.

I did this quest about 3 days ago. I was sent to Ranguemont Pass and my ??? was at (I-9) right in the middle of the intersection.

Metallic Slime was <too weak>. I'm guessing it has less than 1000HP. I'm pretty confident it's around LVL40ish, if not weaker. :P

The ??? for the Vitrallum in Korroloka Tunnel is at (F-10) on the Altepa entrance map, near where the Bogies spawn.

To answer my own question in case anyone else is looking for the info.... The quest for the tactics pearl can be done once a week but make sure when you go to collect a new one that you have since dropped the other because it is rare and you can not hold two. The quest time resets just like Eco and can be done again on Sunday after JP midnight. I can verify that because I got one Sat. night and used it up and was able to get a new one Sunday.

The Healer type is WHM/SMN based. It gaines all its spells as a WHM would. at 40 it gets HASTE, 41 CURE 4, 47 PROTECT 3. It will cast protect, shell, haste, dia, slow, paralyze, silence fairly often. the NPC will also cast Paralyna and Poisona but only when you need them(sometimes they dont). So far ive been dia's and bio's alot, and havnt been 'Erased', so its possible they dont get that spell or any of the Bar spells. Also, it gains HP regen from its WHM main, and its /SMN side only generates its MP regen, it doesnt get anything else from /SMN.
