I picked elvaan male, and talked to red ghost. hair/bangs to his eyes or something was the question, and I picked yes. I ended up with elvaan male model F7. . . who I did not want >>;

So I finished the quest, and got the pearl. After i got the pearl, I talked to the mithra npc, and said I did not want to do this anymore. After going through all the choices, saying you will never see your npc again, she will say to trade her the pearl. After you trade her the pearl, you can start over again ~

My friend's NPC is level 32 and he can now change what weapons his NPC wields.

Also, once every ingame day (resetting at midnight JST most likely) you can get a new signal pearl from the rendezvous point. Simply drop yours and you'll have the option of getting a new one. This is an easy way to exp your NPC twice a day instead of just once.

Today I was farming a bit with my NPC (Healer Type) and I killed a spider. About 10 seconds later the NPC cast Shell and leveled up, the level up couldnt have been that delayed from the Spider kill so I'm assuming them get some xp from casting spells?

Red Ghost, Port Jeuno: 1
Hume Female = Ponytail face 2 (first run)
Mithra = Pigtails?
Galka = Face 6?

Kuah Dakonsa, Lower Jeuno: 2
Mithra = Long Bangs? face 5?
Galka = face 7
Hume Female = face 3 (redo 1)
Elvaan Female = face 5?

Akta, Ru'Lude Gardens: 3
Mithra = Middle parting long side then the other side
Hume Female = face5?
Galka = Face 5

Here is what I have found for sure. I also spent about 3 hours running around Jueno looking for other npc's to talk to and found none. Maybe there is some in other cities.
Atka- Ru'Lude Gardens
Hume Female- Face 1
Kuah Dakonga- Lower Jueno
Hume Female- Face 3
Red Ghost- Port Jueno
Hume Female- Face 2

Hope that helps some....

Actually, there is a bit of lag between my kills and my NPC's level up animation/message as well. I'm pretty sure our NPC's don't get exp from casting spells.

The quest walkthrough for Unlisted Qualities, the first NPC Fellow quest, has been updated dramatically. It lists all the possible face types and hair colors that you can choose for your NPC Fellow, and how to get them. Of course, I was just working off of the basic system and filling in the descriptions; if any of these don't seem to be accurate, please let me know.

Also, there will be some details about how to use your NPC Fellow compiled in the future, so this topic is great to see; keep posting any interesting info you find out about using them. Some thoughts so far:

1) The actual "level up" that the Fellow does is very often delayed. This appears to be why people are coming up with odd theories about how the Fellow levels, but best I can tell it is only by killing mobs that give direct xp to the Fellow. The Fellow starts at level 30, so that means to get max of 200 xp per kill, you have to kill a level 35 or higher mob. As they level up, the level of the mobs have to go up as well, of course. One of the levels that my Fellow got didn't even show up at all, because it became "exhausted" just as it leveled, and left before the message came. When I talked to it at the Rendezvous Point, it had indeed leveled up, however.

2) So far, I've done 4 days (8 sessions, with the drop) and gotten a level on the NPC Fellow every day; on the last or next to last mob of the second session, it levels up. I'm curious to know how long this level a day can continue, if anyone has gotten more levels at a level a day.

3) Also further down the line, past the two weapon upgrades you can do, there is a time (after having summoned it 21 times, I believe) where you can ask your NPC Fellow to change their headwear. Has anyone gotten to that point, and if so how does it work?

Thanks in advance...

With the latest update, SE says that dropping and reclaiming your signal pearl will affect your relationship with your NPC. Does anyone know what they're talking about? I've been summoning my NPC twice a day by doing this, NPC is now lvl35 and I only have the 1st weapon upgrade.

I have a few question to ask about NPC:

1) The 3 outsets are Shield (which is Warrior), Support (which is what? Red Mage or White Mage?) and Attack (which is... dunno, Monk? Warrior?). What is Support?

2) Does the NPC has different stats according to its race, or does it have the same stats, and the race only changes the look of your NPC? (I'm asking this because I currently have a Galka NPC, and I would like to make it into a Supporter)

3) Does the time your NPC stays with you increase the more he levels up? Or maybe the more your levels are close? (right now I'm 64 and he's 31).

4) Do you have a list of weapons that he can accept?

Now now... Since I'm level 64 and he's 31, probably the fastest way for me to make him level up is to bring him to Eastern/Western Altepa Desert, or to Beaucedine Glacier (since I'm Monk and I Hit hard on Bones) and have him as a supporter, so that I can fight strong enemies (well... The best I can find is DC I think) or chain EP ones more easily and cutting down recovery times (Chakra + NPC's healing, buffing and debuffing).
What do you think about it?

Your NPC won't probably never be as high as you in levels, so it's probably best to have someone who can slightly cure you, instead that someone that does almost no damage... (a level 50/60 NPC would probably be a different thing).

Thanks for your answers :)

P.S.
Is there a way to throw away your pearl and, isntead of getting a new pearl from the rendez vous point, getting a new NPC?

I read on one of these forums that you can talk to Luto and choose the option of not wanting to do this anymore and then you redo the quests for your NPC to get a different one.

You can get a new NPC by going back to Luto and cancelling the current quest...then you have to start and square 1 all over again ;)

Does anyone know the list or a site that might contain a list for what weapons you npc will take, since only ceratin ones will be accepted(giving them through Luto firsts of course)?

Let's see... there are rendevous points in Port San d'Oria, and at Ru'lude Gardens... I don't know about Bastok or Windurst.

Once you hit that benchpoint, you can give your NPC close to any "First Weapon". these include:

Tachi
Harpoon
Bronze Sword
Ash Staff / Pole (Can't remember which)
Butterfly Axe
etc.

My NPC had just reached 34th level and I got a message from Luto saying that my NPC would like to try a weapon, and naturally, have me trade (give) the weapon to Luto. Problem: I already gave her an Uchigatana the first time, and now, for second time, I'm not sure what weapon to give her. Am I to give Luto a higher level weapon, or?

NPC levelling progression:
Level 31: Job Change.
Level 32: First Weapon Upgrade
Level 34: Second Weapon Upgrade (Not sure what to do)

Any feedbacks would be most appreciated,

I have the same problem my npc is now level 31 and after giving her a level 12 Great Katana she and after leveling to 31 when I went to talk to Luto I was told she wanted a new weapon. I tried several differrent levels of Great Katannas but none were accepted. Anyone know what the next level beyond level 12 weapon would be?
