Quote from: Cuer Any guild can make gil and useful items, although some are certainly powerhouses more than others. Check out the Guild Recipe Lists to get a feel for what sort of items and materials each guild deals with. Here's a rundown to give an overview of the crafting guilds: Alchemy -- Mainly deals with consumables (sneak oil and invis potions) at lower levels, mixed in with "extra effects" on weapons. I highly recommend everyone take this up to 60, if only to make your own consumables when they aren't easily available. Bonecraft -- Probably the guild that is skilled to 100 the least. Has the fewest recipes of any of them, and mainly skilled up by people who want to make arrowheads. Clothcraft -- Makes most of the gear for casters. Used as a sub-skill in many Goldsmithing and Leathercraft recipes. Especially useful if you do Harvesting. Cooking -- Entirely consumables, so recommended to 60 as well. Being able to make your own juice is quite nice if you're a caster type, or the cheaper foods. With the food revamp in December, it's now very useful to take this all the way to 100, as well. Goldsmithing -- The most expensive to raise at the highest levels, the one that can make the coolest trinkets -- rings and earrings especially. A strong compliment to Smithing, and the guild with the most recipes, including armor and weapons. Works well with Mining to gather the raw materials. Leathercraft -- Almost exclusively armor is made from this guild, with a wide variety of useful gear. Often skilled up just as a sub-skill compliment to other guilds such as Bonecraft, Clothcraft and Smithing. Smithing -- The major skill for weapons, the second most expensive to raise to 100, after Goldsmithing. A busy guild of weapons and some armor. Also mixes well with Mining, of course. Woodworking -- Two specific groups tend to clump on Woodworking: Rangers, so they can make their own arrows; Fishermen, to be able to repair their own rods, most notably Lu Shang's. At the higher levels, a notable synth is the level 51 elemental staves. Logging is useful for helping any Woodworker gain raw materials. Hope that helps!
