a hexagun, that means several barrels to one gun. raising the possibilty that different types of ammo could be fired that affect the mob differently, and the type of bullet fired and severity of impact/enfeeble depending on a luck factor?

Well according to some speculation:

Hexagon = Having 6 sides
full party = 6 members

S-E stated that in an interview (translation can be read here: http://www.angryoaf.com/funkytaru/data_touchdown/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=28&topic=690.0 )That Corsairs wont be damage dealers like a ranger but instead will use their ranged weapon to buff the party.

Maybe the "luck" factor will be which of the party members will actually receive the buff.

Say the corsair attempts to use a regen buff, and pulls the trigger. The party member that recieves the buff depends on which barrel the bullet comes out of.

This is total speculation though and Its somewhat of a stretch. We wont know till the job is released (or we get to play it at the fan festival).

You mean the Demon Gun used my Kaze. I liked that Anime actually... But anyway, I was kinda hokin this class would more focus on the gun aspect of Ranged Weapons, concitering they kinda aren't very widely used. If that is the case, this could turn into another one of those expensive classes... I can just imagen what those that can make bullets are gonna do once they catch wind of this...

/em camps the AH, preparing to buy all the bullets he can before he skyrocket.

Actually Hex = 6 and Oct = 8 so it would make sense that this is clearly a support job as each barrel can give buffs and support to each party member. I'm sure the luck factor will be a matter of how effective the buff is and or which member it will be used on. We can't really confirm anything until we try it ourselves, but it's safe to say it looks pretty fun and the AF looks sweet. ^^

Anyone consider maybe "Hex" actually means curse in this case? All the images show the Corsair useing standard current guns available in game.

"corsairs rely on the Hexagun a multi-barreled revolver"

Maybe that's why no one have considered it might mean curse.
It's pretty clear from the description that it's a 6 barreled gun. It's what you might be able to do with it that's interesting. :)

I'd imagine it would be similar to Vincent in FFVIII, which when he did his limit break he could fire different status bullets if he had them in his inventory.

I'm thinking you'd have to hold different ammo and choose (much like ninjitsu) which status bullet you'll fire.

Of course I didn't develope this, so I don't know. I'm just speculating.

*Irvine* in FFVIII, not Vincent. Vincent's limit break was much different and he was in FFVII.

They should be able to summon Undead like the pirates
on the "Ship from Selbina - Mhaura"

Now that would be cool!

I myself like the idea of this job.

But I think all of your takes on it are pretty odd....
I think the whole Luck factor is like Setzer's "Slots" skill maybe, or even Cat's Dice, after all pirates are all about Gambling and getting drunk >.>

After all that would answer how it's a buffer more then a DD >.>

only prob I have with this job so far is the fact that there's no pics of a Tarutaru dressed as one :/ I'm a Tarutaru where's my pics to dream of!

and I'm sure I speak for EVERYONE when I say this job better get a Refresh'Aga xD

well...its called hexagun, not hex, and either way, hexe = witch in german (hexe is pronounced like hexa in german, and SE is known for using a lot of german words for names, but i still think the 6barrels for 6party members is the most likely outcome.

In all logic, the fact that we assume its a party buff oriented character with a focus on a projectile weapon *should* lead everyone to one conclusion...

Setzer.

Think about it. Slots...attack moves, party buffs, party regens, party refreshes, erase-ga, ect. The more potent ones obviously need better luck to pull off. But, their attack ability wont suck. It wont be anything like a RNG, but still be able to cause melee damage in some capacity while throwing out its reels or dice or slots or whatever.
