Once the Xbox 360 FFXI is publicly released, you will need to purchase a copy of it for the Xbox 360. With that, you should be able to log in and play any accounts you have had on your PS2 or PC; a few interviews back, the producer said that they definitely will allow people to move over to the Xbox 360 from a previous version of the game. You will have to pay for it, though, by buying a copy of the game for the console; they aren't doing it for free. :>

The first people to play ToAU will be the guys that are in Ballista Royal in Santa Monica's event 9-11 of March. So this means ToAU will be release very soon after this event; there have been game promotions in the past that you play the game at the event, as you exit the event they will have copies of ToAU available for u to pick up. Due to "peer pressure" and the lasting taste during the event, gamers are more likily to pick one up....but if you go to those event, you must be hardcore FF player already; i think they will pick one up without any type of advertisment or gimmicks.

And this relates to the bundle of the Xbox; it really depends on how long beta testng lasts. if it last into the release date of the ToAU; then it 'may' get bundle together. if not then i guess 30 dollars extra will needed to be saved up.

The latest from the official FFXI website, added to the news:

FINAL FANTASY XI Xbox 360 Free Beta in Stores Now!

The February issue of Official Xbox Magazine has hit store shelves, and with it comes the free FINAL FANTASY XI beta! Players can grab the issue from their local retailers and be off exploring the world of Vana'diel in high definition in no time. Our previous beta resulted in many strong friendships that carried over into the launch of the game in North America. We hope to achieve the same level of excitement with the Xbox 360 beta as well. See you in Vana'diel!

Visit the Official Xbox Magazine website for details.

Will the characters that were started on the XBOX 360 Beta version be deleted once the beta servers are closed and the game comes out for public purchase? Or will the Beta players be able to move their characters over to other servers. Also, IF you can move your character to other server(s) , are their any limitations to which servers you can move them to.

For example, if there is a new server created will high level players be able to jump into it from other servers?

I believe that a world pass let's you jump servers, but does you gil go with you ? or just your naked character? kind of confusing since different servers have different economies i.e. high difference in prices for same items.

any info would be very nice.

A world pass doesn't let you jump servers in the sense you are using it. A world pass lets you have a NEW character go to a specified server (the one the world pass is for). Only during special events will SE let you transfer your character to another server (called migration).

Ok, I registered my BETA char on the Xbox 360, Using my PC playonline account, When i start the Xbox 360 my Beta Character appears, Then when I use my PC, My PC characters appear, I think the Xbox 360 Disc is programmed not to let you play your Subscribed characters...

Is it just me or does it seem unfair to bill XBL gold subscribers the same amount? I mean, I can understand the complications and what not but seriously...even a couple dollars cheaper would be nice. All we are paying for is playonline which serves NO PURPOSE to the xbox as XBL includes friends lists and messaging and what not. 13 bux a month is pretty expensive and while I may be willing to pay it, I know that 90 percent of peeps I play with refuse to buy the game because that is too much to pay. My feeling is we should pay about 100 bux for the game and get a 2 year subscription to it...hell at least one year!!! Work with us S-E!

Because the X360 version is logging you into the BETA server, not the live servers. When the X360 version goes live, you'll have to buy the X360 version of the game, and then you can log in with your PC/PS2/X360 account, and access all your current characters.
