News Item: Site Updates - December 5, 2005

The addition of Mini-Quests and a Guides overview is featured in this site update.

Walkthroughs for mini-quests have been added, and can be found on the new Mini-Quests list, located on the left sidebar in the Quests section. These mini-quests are any set of actions that must be done in order to obtain an item, gain access to a certain area, etc; they are never listed in the Quest or Mission character info. A handful of the mini-quests in the game have been given walkthroughs, and many more will be continue to be added in the near future.
In order to have an easy list of the wide variety of guides found on this site, we have added a new FFXI Guides Overview section. Every guide on the site is listed there, and it will be expanded as more are added. You can always find this from the left sidebar, or by going directly to ffxi.somepage.com/guides/.
With the new Guides Overview section in place, many of the links to the guides were removed from the left sidebar, to keep it from growing too long.
Some of the BCNM and ENM drops were updated; the internal database has been expanded to make it easier to properly list all drops from them. Palos has put in numerous other code changes to keep the site running as quickly as possible.
Mirriam has been adding and updating various gardening recipes, which is reflected in many of the updated items listed below.
A number of recipes were updated, including the subskills for some recipes that require multiple skills. Special attention should be paid to the subskills that are set to a 11 or other similar numbers (21, 31, 41, etc.) These are primarily set to those numbers based on the crafting rank of the subskill (the Recruit crafting rank starts at 11, Initiate starts at 21, etc.) The rank of the subskills is listed in official Japanese FFXI guides, which allows this information to be listed. Obviously, the actual skillcap is higher for a number of these subskills; if you have any further info from a skillup that would provide more accurate crafting skillcaps, be sure to leave feedback accordingly.

Why doesnt SE do anything to update DRK. Im a level 75 DRK and I have Level 40 WAR sub and level 37 THF sub. I have other jobs close to 37 also but I am unable to get a party to do Promy 2-5 on. I am also unable to farm solo very much and heaven forbid if a DRK tries to solo anything that would give xp. So now its either level another job to 75 so i can go on or what? Pay my fee every month to level my npc? How boring. I'm not the only DRK that is disgusted.
