Summary: Gantineux wants you to help him in his study of white magic. Go to the Eldieme Necropolis and offer up "spirit incense" at the dimly flickering candle to try to appease the spirits of the dead.

The ??? that spawns for this quest randomly appears in one of four (4) different locations in Eldieme Necropolis; all which spawn from the four different entrances: G-7, H-7, I-6 and F-5. In order to reach the F-5 entrance you must pass by Beaucedine Glacier. I recomend that you go to the F-5 entrance first through Beaucedine Glacier, and if the ??? is not there simply jump off the edge and visit the three other entrances. Once you find the ??? it is normal that you FAIL to light the candle. Return to Ganitneux in Windurst who will send you to Eperdur in Northern San D'Oria in order to complete the quest. Enjoy your new scroll.
