These mobs spawn as a generic form; when aggroed, they change form slightly (pulling out a weapon) and select a specific job. They can be any of the 15 jobs available at the time CoP was released, and will summon pets accordingly (Wynav as a Dragoon, Xzomit as a Beastmaster, Elemental as a Summoner.)
These mobs can reraise with full health; if an item drops when the Aern dies the first time, it will not reraise.
