It reduces so much damage when blocking (~80% of the attack is absorbed), and has such a high proc rate, that it doesn't need extra -physical. The -magic % is huge when tanking large HNMs like Tiamat, Khimaira, and anything that does magic attacks or magic based WS attacks (like Fafnir's Hurricane Wing). I have one, and absolutely love it.
