ok i'm a 66rdm/33rdm and i need to kill Maat to go to Level 75 and i heard that he is hard, and i've heard that he is easy. LOL there is always two sides to a story but always can anyone tell me how to kill him as a rdm i'm goint to fight him as a level 70. Is there like a special kind of way or secret, tip, hint, faq anything to take this guy down. IF you know anything about what i'm talkin about that would be the greatest and thank you.

From what I gather, the RDM maat fight is the hardest.

Good luck ;;

I havnt done any of them personally, but I have seen the blm one, and from what I have seen, you just have to stay calm, and know what you are doing ^^

I beat Maat as an Elvaan RDM, and it was one of the hardest fights i've had. you will need to sleep him at the start (so cap you enfeebling magic) debuff him and then cast aero III, thats pretty much it. Sounds ez I know, but he doesnt like to be sleep and when he resist and he will, he will hit u with multiple asuran fists.

make sure to bring elixer and hi-ethers, keep stoneskin and blink up at all times. theres a nice video on KI that shows the RDM vs. Maat fight that shows you how to beat him.

Good Luck and have fun getting ur testimonts ^^

I'm sorry, forgot to say "sleep > nuke repeat", my last post makes it sound like 1 sleep and 1 nuke will end the fight. You will be sleep nuking him through the entire fight. You can also cast sleep 1 then Sleep 2 to help get u a lil more time to recast your buffs

Most ppl that say RDM Maat fight is easy have never tried it. If you're fighting Maat for the first time with your rdm, you'll probably be really nervous and might make a mistake or two that will lose you the fight. It happens, don't worry about it. I beat Maat as 69 RDM on my 3rd attempt. I had capped elemental & enfeebling, wore enfeebling torque, mst. cst. bracelets, AF body.. bascially raised enfeebling as much as I could. I didn't use an elemental torque, but mst. cst. bracelets give +7 elemental skill. First time he just resisted everything. Second time I went on Lightsday (don't do that lol.) Third time I went on Windsday to maximize Aero III and he gave up after maybe 6 or 8 nukes total I don't exactly remember. Take vile elixer & vile elixer +1 (you can always sell back if you don't need them) and as many hi-potions & hi-ethers as you can carry, couple yag drinks, and whichever the best au'lait is... Take a wind staff & dark staff at least.

Lots of ppl say to enter the BC w/out equipment on because Maat will match your stats. I don't know if this is true or not, but I did it and had absolutely no problems with resists. Every sleep worked, all but 2 nukes hit at full dmg, and all debuffs worked too... even bind. Once you enter, buff up with everything you've got pop a couple of hi-ethers to help gain your mp back faster. Take notice that you can't do anything for about 5 secs after you have taken the hi-ether, so you don't want to use these while Maat is awake. I would use one as soon as I slept him, and if I debuffed him while he was sleeping, I'd use another one before I cast a nuke. Don't waste your mp on cures, use your hi-post instead. They're fast, reliable, and way cheaper than running out of mp and having to pop a vile elixer.

I don't suggest silencing him, because I think having him stand away from you and cast is far more easy to handle than having him run up and beat you, interrupt your casting, and maybe get enough tp to Asuran Fists you. I think paralyze, bind, gravity, blind, and slow are best.

Ok, now for the battle. Test him for shadows with a Stone & Water, or whatever non-DoT spell you want to use, then Sleep. If he resists, cast Sleep 2. If he resists again, kite him a little, until you can cast again. Once he's asleep, you can pop a hi-ether, dispel, para, dispel, blind, hi-ether, etc. If your buffs wear, recast them, and always throw a hi-pot after a spell or 2 so you don't lose too much mp. Once he's debuffed you have a choice. You can 2hr right off and start chaining Aero III, Sleep him before you're out of mp, Convert, Cure, and nuke again. Or, you can Aero III, Sleep, Aero III, Sleep. I did the second way for a couple of spells until a bit before he hit 1/2 hp (it took 2 or 3), then I Chainspelled and nuked him for another 3 or 4. He Chainspells at around 50% hp, and his nukes hurt, but he can still be slept and I suggest you do it, especially if you are close to death.

Remember, you don't have to kill him, just take him down to about 20% hp and he'll give up. Also, watch the clock. It can be a very nervous fight, and sometimes he just resists everything you throw at him, but if you don't win the first time (or even the first 3 times lol) keep it up. I've heard of rdms trying 14 or 15 times before they beat him, and all I can say to that is they have the right spirit. At least they wouldn't give up.^^

I am 0/4 tries with maat rdm fight. i am a taru and from what everyone tells me, is that 90% of the fight is luck. So if you can get the lucky egg drop in crawlers nest.
The first time i fought him as a 69 rdm with elemental and enfeebling capped on darksday. I had him to half until he resisted sleep and aursan fights(spelling) and being a taru, i didnt survive. I also converted too early. So the 2 times I fought him on earthday and windsday and everything i casted he resisted. So therefore I lasted about less then 2 secs. My enfeebling was capped but because of the days he resisted all sleep, bind, and silence. I was screwed.
On the last try I went in naked and on darksday and he slept just fine, but I didnt dispel and his shadows absorbed everything, I got him to more than half and with 2 hits and stone 3, i died.
From what another rdm taru told me is, that I need to run in as fast as i can and sleep him before he buffs up. I am also thinking of a taco for food because I could use the HP and ability to take hits. I do know w few people that quit the game because they could not beat maat as a rdm. But my friend beat maat the same day i fought him (however she is a cat and not a taru. So whoever told you it was easy, either hasnt fought him yet or pulling your chain.
I did have a lot of lvl 75 rdms tell me it is mainly luck. Man, I have bad luck in the game lol.

It is like and calm.

Sleep him as soon as you can, before he gets Blink up. Some guides suggest using Diaga (the only rdm ga) to strip his blink: I would not advise that. Yes, Gas do strip blink...sometimes. But MageBlink is flaky and doesn't always absorb the damage... and if you hit -him- instead of the shadows, he is now unsleepable and still has blink on.

Keep Stoneskin and Blink on at all times... if he touches you, cancel them and recast once he is asleep again.

I found it useful to use Bind right after the chainspell (after so that your recast is zero in case he resists): then you can nuke away and he can't smack you for it. Gravity is also your friend -- if he chooses to punch you, you are dead.
