In Search of Truth

new quest, "In Search of the Truth" reward, Gramary Cape (Level 50, Def 2, Magic Acc +1, Magic Defense Bonus +2, WHM/BLM/RDM/BRD/RNG/NIN/SMN)

Never leave the safehold for this one, get to play detective.

Talk to Tressia to start it. Then talk to Raminey (J-7), Faugnine (I-8 ), Noam (G-9), and Zedant (H-8 ). You'll get four witness accounts. Tressia will then ask you to put them together in order, then give the locations in order (you get as many tries as you need, Faugnine->Zedant->Noam->Raminey is order).

Once you have that done, you'll be asked to head back down the tributary (where Noam is) and follow a trail. This is a series of ???s that will lead you back up to the bridge at the main entrance.

After that return to Tressia, then to Ondieulux at the entrance for your reward.

the order seems to vary, and you'll need to talk to Raminey twice...atleast I had to. Might of been a CS from another quest.

Anyways, the order varies dependant on the CS's you get I believe, because the afforementionned order didnt work. So here are the possible orders (its only 16 fortunately)

blah, theres more. when you talk to her again, she'll just want the positions of those people, in the order you gave them to her. so just write down the order of the names, then just associate positions.

and now the positions arent working in the order I gave....this quest sucks. And before I look like an idiot, its 24 possibilities, not 16. Frustration :

Some more information for the confused:

The NPC's that will give you eyewitness accounts are:
Raminey (near Justinius)
Fouagine (southeastern part of upper level ring)
Noam (tributary on the main level)
Zadant (main level, top of stairs that go down to aqueducts/den)

Tressia will ask you to put the accounts into chronological order, then she'll ask for the locations of where these accounts took place (not the locations of the NPC's). The order/locations that Isiolia posted worked for me.

The locations listed are the NPC locations and they worked just fine me.

I wonder if you need to be on a certain PM mission. I am on 2-3 and Tressia simply yelled at me when I talked to her.

uhm, did the part with order of accounts and locations. Got the shaded cruse but terria isn't taking it and I'm not getting any reward from the other guy.

Look around and examine all the question marks for a CS. I thought, too, adfter I got the shaded thingy to take it back and started to do so, but my friend saw a ???

Ok theres a few more things to it then this... heres what i have found.
Start the quest like he says, and talk to the 4 people. After you get the 4 cutscenes, go back to Tressia. She will ask you to put them into order..which has been posted. She then asks you to put the locations into order (just do the locations of the people in the same order).

They then ask you to help track down the thief. Go down to the bottom by Noam, and find the shaded cruse at a ???. Then click each other ??? on your way from there to the main bridge to get a "There is water here, the trail is fresh" message (or something like that).

You will get a cutscene at the last ??? and see the "thief". Go back upstairs and talk to tressia. Go down to the entrance and talk to the guy for your reward. Hope this helps a little.

This quest is now completely in the database: In Search of the Truth. One thing that isn't known: is there any particular mission requirement before you can get this quest (apart from obviously needing access to the Tavnazian Safehold.) If you have access into Tavnazia and were NOT able to get the quest, please post and we can figure that out.

Weird glitch I found. After the CS at the breakaway bridge, I went directly to the NPC who gives you the reward item. He gave me the item before I spoke to tressia for a final time. Because of this, I did not get the final CS and lost some closure.
