Ok I have read that race does not affect your npcs stats and that they all have same but my galka (lvl65) tells me he needs to rest soon after 2 cure Vs but I swear I have seen someones hume toss out at least 4 w/o resting. Theres was also in mage gear while mine is not but I doubt that has anything to do with it. If anyone could help me with any info that would be great. I am thinking about remaking my npc into taru but dont wanna do it all over again only to find it was for nothing.

I don't know the exact circumstances of the original poster's question but one possibility is you have your NPC set on stalwart shield not soothing healer. If he was a pld type yes he'd be out of mana after a couple of cure IV's but the others could be on the soothing healer where they are a whm and have much greater MP.
The second thing is your NPC will always be level 30 to start unless you are lower than that yourself where it caps at your level. Ask it what job and level it is and that is the job it's at.

Funny enough, my friend's Galka NPC had the same problem, his NPC being higher level than my Taru NPC, yet when both of us use Soothing Healer, mine seem to last longer. Though, I am not sure if it was really the race problem.
Anyhow, to answer the OP's question: The other NPC you see may be a lv65 NPC, and if yours is no where... Do I have to say it? It's the same as WHM65 vs WHM64(or lower). ^^;;
To 2nd question: Your NPC level will not change according to job, as the NPC would say when you ask him/her to change style, you level your NPC by killing anything equal or above your NPC level: meaning, killing in Yhoater jungle as a lv75 with a lv30 NPC will still level your NPC. As with players, the bigger the gap between monster and NPC, the better the exp.
And, WHM type = Healer/Soothing Healer. You obtain the advanced styles from certain quest that you will get as you play with your fellowship more. However, you can only obtain 1 advanced style out of the 3 avaliable(from the quest), for the other 2, you will either have to trade or buy it off, depending which is easier for you.

yeah im slow about respondin lol... 1st off i know the difference between soothing healer and shield, both were healer lol. I have a RL friend with a hume npc that i have compared mine to. Mine is 65 galka and his was high 50s (forget exactly what lvl) hume. I used em one at a time and a few different times letting them burn out as much mp as they would keeping track of what they casted. I even kept fighting mobs after they stopped casting so they could use the cheap spells such as silence and such. Added up the mp they burned and his comes out around 100 more mp than mine. Neither of them had any type of mage gear on either. Based on that I have been planning on starting over with a taru in hopes of a better mp pool but just been to lazy to do so lol. Would <3 if a few ppl could try to get an idea of their npcs mp pool and post it with race and lvl to help me make sure im not crazy lol.

So does it take xp away if your npc dies in combat? For the most part I\'ve been lvling in Garlaige with a new npc and he dies after defeating a large number of mobs, but dies because of some reaon or another down the line.
