Character Transfer

Is it possible to transfer a character from one account to another and maintain the characters job levels and equipment?

i dont know, but i would also like to transfer my charecter. so if any one has an answer, please say it. it would be much appreciated.

The only situation in which this is possible is during "Server Migrations," though you do not get to choose which server you are moved to.

Even during server migrations, it's unlikely that they would allow you to transfer to a new Content ID account. This frequently happens one another person in your house realizes how much fun FFXI is, and you find yourself buying a second version so you can enjoy it together (this is what happened to me). One of you will need to start over again with a new character.

Characters are tied to Content IDs, which are tied to Playonline accounts. Only one person can be logged into a Playonline account at a time.

You will also need a world pass in order to easily get back on the server you want. When I did this, I left my old player active for the month, and logged on between accounts and sent all of my needed items to the new character, and sold the rest. It's a bit easier starting again with all +1 equipment and friends willing to quickly bring you back up to your prior level.

this isnt possible, i recently called square to find out, they did say however, that if enough people called and asked them about it they might consider making it a choice..i dont see how hard it could be for them, and why wouldnt they want the extra $13++ a month?

Well if this sight being ffxi.somepage.com could help with this little endevor it could become quite easy. If we start an online patition then the matter could be resolved in a matter of weeks. Of corse somepage.com will need to help with confidentiality, but leaving your full name and number, and perhaps your zipcode to the petition would be suficiant enuff to sway their ideals. Of corse we would need a lot of help on this one, but if more people are willing to do this ( Being sighning the petition ) Then the matter would be taken care of. I know this sight has a lot of run through daily on its contents but if you spred the word and advertise this idea widley with alakazam and more then it would run smoother. I have put down my ideas now its your ball to run with if you see fit.

At some of the interviews with FFXI producers, they mentioned that their billing system has been updated to make it more likely that they'll be able to move characters from one server to another. Nothing has shown up from that, though, and it's impossible to know if they ever will do so.

I don't think that petitions as such are very useful for this, but you certainly can leave feedback requesting this; go here to the secure PlayOnline feedback site, and select the Comments and Suggestions mail form. You can leave suggestions there for any aspect of the game, this included.

If there is serious interest from FFXI players, the developers may put it in. It's hard to know how they decide what to add, though, so don't get your hopes up.

I called Square today and they told me its not possible because of bandwith. I told then I thought not being able to switch servers was dumb and they have and will likely lose users because of it, they basically told me they don't care.
