Since you are just starting the game I would recommend Hume, They are pretty well balanced to any of the jobs. If you want to be a mage galka don't have much mp to cast but they are great for mele jobs especially monk they do a lot af dammage. Taru have quite a bit of Mp but they are pretty useless as a mele job or a tank because they have the lowest mp of the races. I would stick to Hume Mithra or elvan. hume have well balanced stats and you can play any job about equally well they have a fair amount of mp and Hp mithra would be good as well I believe they have a bit less mp and hp but they have high agility (good for thf) I dont know much about elvan but I believe they are a little more based toward hp and physical jobs.
