I noticed that Somepage's food guide lists Jack-o-Lanterns as having +10 ACC, but no mention of +10 Rng. ACC. According to MysteryTour and FFXIclopdia, it also gives +10 Rng. ACC, and CORs say they've noticed an increase in ranged accuracy while using them.

Also, there was a rumor that some effects of the Jack-o-Lanterns, i.e. +10 ACC, only activate on Darksday... I tend to believe that this rumor is entirely false, but I'm wondering if anyone has found merit in these rumors.

I noticed the very same thing. I have leveled rng to 61 thus far and i have used jacks for many of those levels. I even raised my cooking skill specifically to make these so i could continue to use them. At 10-20k each i thought this was time well spent. Anyhow, i have a theory on this matter. I have the ffxi strategy guide released spring 04. If you look at the food listed in the back it does not even list racc or ratt. I think this is due to lack of printing space on the chart. Keep in mind that the strat guide was released just after the NA pc version and just before the NA ps2 versions hit the street. This is the exact same time somepage and allah got started as well. Since these sites are primarily based on info compiled by ffxi players then it would have taken months upon months to compile enough info to be worth all of us going to these sites. The only other option is to find this info from some other source and post it as quick as possible. I theorize that these sites basically copied the info listed in the strat guide just to get off the ground therefore they do not list racc or ratt. Sites like Mysterytour however are jp based and have not only had the game a year longer than us but most of their info has come from any and every source other than the Brady Games ffxi strat guide. In conclusion, Jack-o-Lanterns do indeed have +10 racc and no it has nothing to do with a day of the week or time of day.
