I'm gonna sound like a total idiot on this so just bear with me. I personally play FFXI on the PS@, but there is a friend of mine that wants to use the PC verson. (Mainly due to the impossablity of finding a HDD anymore) Only one peoblem, the recomended Video card for FFXI will NOT fit into his Video port. I only know of two diffrent Video port sizes (Cannot remember their names off the top of my head), so I need to try and find a card that will fit into the slot he has. It's a HP Pavilion 533w if that helps any of the computer gurus out there. Thanks in advance.

This may sound snotty and I don't mean it to at all,so bear with me... but the best folks to ask may be HP or alternately you can go to any CompUSA or Best Buy (or whatever local computer/electronics chain is near you) and you should be able to find at least one employee with a brain to help you with that. You can also contact POL themselves via their website. Goodluck with that! It can be a pain. But there are similar cards to the recommened NVidia cards that will work just as well.

According to HP's site, this PC has 2 Available PCI slots and apparently no AGP slot. You can find cards that work on PCI (Ignore anything that says PCI-Xpress, you cannot use it.)

PCI cards are by no means going to be anywhere close to the latest or greatest, but there are some that can play FFXI. I looked around for a few minutes and spotted cards with the ATI Radeon 9250 chipset and the Geforce FX 5500 that are PCI. Those should be fine for FFXI.

Not to sound like a prick, but I'd recommend to your friend that he save up and buy a new computer. Also, I think the playonline.com store sells the ps2 bundle, including the HDD. Not absolutely sure though.
