could someone please tell me how to use macros. I'm trying to figure out how to do stuff before i buy the game because i heard it can get confusing.

Macros are a tool that helps you automate actions that you do over and over again. For instance, I primarily play a thief andin a party, I usually wind up pulling monsters back to the party, and this is the macro that I use:

I have another macro that I made because I was tired of dying on the ferry between Selbina and Mhuara. I'm still fairly low level and my fishing level is still fairly low. So when I fish I wear my fishing gear, but it gets me killed pretty easily if I catch a monster:
/equip Body "Shade Harness"
/equip Gloves "Shade Mittens"
/equip Legs "Shade Hose"
/equip Feet "Beetle Leggings"
(Yeah, I haven't found the last piece of the gear at the AH yet - only the +1 for nearly 1 mil...)
So, I just hit ctrl+6 to change gear quickly and better defend myself. I have another similar macro to equip my fishing gear.
The game comes with 19 pre-defined macros that you'll probably completely change or at least modify. But you will use them

the time. Sadly, it's hard to find a good, comprehensive guide to making useful macros, just a few here and there in different posts on various sites.
