One question I have... the walkthrough notes that you must complete Initial Three, Seven of a Kind, and Eight Initial Straight in order to move on to furniture and the Orphic Egg. It goes on to say that if you have the Happy and Fortune Egg from last year, you don't lose your eggs when making the trade.

Does this mean I still have to trade the eggs and get them back? I have my Happy and Fortune Eggs, as well as furnishing eggs, and would just like to get the Orphic Egg. I've traded SEY for the Initial Three, and would appreciate knowing if I can jump straight to the Orphic now.

umm... how do you get the beastmen costumes? I've heard about them from last year and the walkthrough says something about a "wrong combination" to get them, so does anyone have any examples?

ou Do not have to complete any other combo then the initial 3 to get the orphic egg. I got mine after having only completed that one... i do not have the Happy Lucky or any of the Funriture Eggs

So is the Orphic egg the only new item this year? I dont care much for the ammo-slot eggs but I loved last year's furnishings. I was wondering if there was any new fusnishings or joke armor/weapons like last year and other events.

so far it appears the Orphic Egg is the only new item. i had all of the others from last year, already.

as for HQ Orphic, i havent seen one running around yet, but i'd like to get it if there is, so please let us know, someone, if you see one :)

Orphic egg latent effect activates by having *ANY* song active on your character.

I have confirmed this personally. Attack goes up one when bard sings a song no matter which and down when song ends. Just so ya know.

I have found that if you trade a day name on the day it's not related to you get the corresponding color drop, like tradings Earth on Windsday, Moogle will give Yellow drop, or Fire on Darksday will result in a red drop.

Does anyone know what the latency conditions are for the orphic egg - I know its sing+1 latent: +1att +1acc +1eva. But what do you need to get them?

weeeeeeeeeell if it was a +1 version, you know SE probably be crazy enough to make you do everyday, to get the +1 version without latent effect. like do fire, water, ice, thunder, air etc.

I can't confirm yet, but from what I've seen on other forums the costumes seem to come from trading the first 5 letters of regions under Beastmen control. Someone reported a Yagudo costume by trading VALDA, but it would vary as conquests are tallied and areas change hands. I'm going to give it a shot later tonight.

I am having a real problem trading in my straight 8. I did the initial 3 with no problem. Then I got I J K L M N O P (My name in the game is Igihster). I had room in my inventory - that wasn't the problem. And I didn't think that I needed to do the 7 of a kind first...

Does it matter than some of the eggs came from San D'Oria, some from Windurst and some from Bastok? I didn't think that it should.

I got so frustrated that I sold all my eggs and gave a couple of them away...

Any insight would be appreciated.

Odd tip but make sure you trade it to the middle Moogle - the actual egg giver - the other moogles are just highered thugs that repeat the conditions ^_^

Yeah... I figured that out ((sheepish grin)). Finally got an Orphic Egg (why anyone would do that on any day other than Iceday is beyond me) and the fortune egg. Yeah!

The furnishings eggs are rare/ex this year. They cannot be traded.

As I understand you need to collect one of every color drop to get the black drop. Effects: instant warp

they're handed out randomly along with chocobo tickets
but if you want to be sure to get ONE (cause they're rare so you can have more than one) collect one of every other color so that the only option the moogle has to give you is a black drop or a chocobo ticket - but why weigh down your inventory so?
if i remember right i still have a clear drop i bartered but could never send to the person because the AH wouldn't let me send it to their mog house >< that was like a year ago... i wonder if they'd be mad if i sold it... can't remember their full name anyway ><! ...back up - TRIED to sell it.
