getting around

What is the best way to get to Windurst from Bastok? I want to go there but I get horribly lost. I keep getting this quest to ride a chocobo there. I feel silly asking, but I need help.

Bastok Markets ---> South Gustaberg ---> North Gustaberg ---> Konschtat Highlands ---> Valkurm Dunes ---> selbina ---> boat to Mhaura ---> Buburimu Peninsula ---> Tahrongi Canyon ---> East Sarutabaruta ---> Windurst Woods

Bastok markets, South Gustaberg, North Gustaberg, Konschtadt Highlands, Pashow Marshlands, Rolenberry Fields, Sauromogue Champaign, Meriphataud Mountains, Tahrongi Canyon, and East Sartabartaruba.... but i do believe you will run out of choco time before you get there.

Yeah, it takes 1 or 2 pieces of Chocobo gear (each piece adds 1 minute ride time) to make the run. It physically can't be done within the normal chocobo time.
It's a terribly weak quest though, so don't feel you're slacking by turning the stables vendor down (just take the free choco!)
There's chocobo delivery quests going from/to each city, including Jeuno. Also one from Kazham to Norg (SSG entrance). It's incredibly difficult to complete them fast enough to earn a decent reward.

Just for the record, I did Bastok -> Windurst a while back, and when I was done I was told that the record was held by someone who did it in 29:58. This means that it is technically possible to do it without chocobo gear, although I think that person must have gotten an awful lot of practice to get their time down that low. Good luck!

Is there a better reward than Gyshal Greens? That's the only thing I've ever got from this stupid quest. Or do the rewards get better the more often you do these?

I have heard of better rewards but I believe it comes with beating the best time.

You can earn choco tickets for free rides. Good for when crag prices are high

There's specific rewards based on the time you complete the run. The current record has nothing to do with the reward.

I don't know the exact times for each route, but it goes like this:
City X -> City Z
00:25:00+ Gysahl Green
00:20:00-00:24:59 Chocobo Ticket
>0:19:59 Memoirs/Glyph

You just need to clear it within the preset time limits to get different rewards. Mysterytour had the time limits posted but I can't find it anymore.

On two separate occasions, I've received a Page from the Dragon Chronicles on the San d'Oria to Bastok run. Neither were records, but each were within 1 minute of the record.

I believe you get the Memoirs when going between the three PC starter towns (I got them both times I finished the quest between Sandy and Bastok) and glyphs when you go to Jeuno from a town (the glyph being the one for that town, as I got one for Bastok Mines while going from Bastok to Jeuno)
