Hello,

My main is a MNK, so I may be able to help you. One thing that is different about H2H weapons verses others is that the weapon adds stats to your H2H ability. You can use H2H unarmed, the weapons add to how effective that is. For example, your base H2H weapon speed (assuming you dont have a weapon) is 480. MNKs get a Job Trait called Martial Arts which reduces your delay by 20 each time you get it.

So, with that in mind, here is an example. If you are using Cesti, they have a delay of +48. This means if you were a level 1 thief using H2H, your weapon speed would be 528.

Damage is similar, but slightly more complicated. A character's natural H2H dmg is your H2H skill divided by 10, then added by 3.

For example, if your Skill is at 50, your base damage would be 8 ((50/10)+3). If you are still using Cesti, then your dmg with the Cesti would be 5.

If you want more information on how this works, check out http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/index.php/Category:Hand-to-Hand

In fact, for a lot of general info on FFXI, check out http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org. Its still a work in progress, but it is coming along nicely.

Thanks,
