How do you guys calculate the DPS figures that you have in your discriptions? I have tried doing DMG/Delay and the reverse and I have even tried some other things but I can't seem to get how you come up with that figure. Just curious as to what it is and how it works.

Thanks^^

I am not sure if this is how Somepage did it, but pc users can run an application caller a parser. You run the program prior to starting FFXI, and you use a couple of macros in game. The parser reads the log files that FFXI creates and uses that information to calculate it. I run one occassionally on my pc (I plan to use it to see what the most effective gear I have is).

You can reproduce the DPS figures on this site by taking the damage/delay ratio and multiplying the resultant number by 60.

Here's the formula:
dmg / (delay / 60)

After basic arithmetic, this is the same as:
dmg / delay * 60

Reasoning:
DPS = Damage Per Second
60 delay = 1 second
1 delay = 1 frame; FFXI uses 60 frames per second internally.

Hope that helps,
