What race is good for RNG/THF or NIN?

Hey,

I am just wondering what race would be good for this class, because I am confused on what to do, since I am an Elvaan.

Fact-Elvaan accuracy sucks, Mithra are best for Acc, otherwise you'll want to sub NIN for when you are high enough to use Uts... since rng is a hate magnet. On another note I know a few Elvbaan rng's and they are pretty good so just make sure your acc is good

Elvaans make excellent rangers. As all ways, STR affects how much damage you deal. Elvaan's have the most STR, so you're going to deal more than a Mithra on any given hit.

Also, AGI (the stat a mithra has higher than an elf) is a small, small factor in Ranged Accuracy. The beauty of RNG is that ranged accuracy is a very easy stat to get your hands on through gear. As an elf ranger, you will be able to pile on RACC w/o worrying too much about RATTK or STR. A Mithra RNG who doesn't put any money in RATTK and STR will be worse than an Elf RNG.

My point: Gear will define you more than Race. If you like Elvaans, go for it.

You're wrong. Elvaan has the most STR, and Galka the most VIT.

The following are base stats, not factoring in gear or merit point upgrades.

75 Elvaan RNG/NIN

HP- 1055, STR- 67, DEX- 63, VIT- 68, AGI- 67, INT- 54, MND- 65, CHR- 58

75 Galka RNG/NIN

HP- 1176, STR- 65, DEX- 66, VIT- 72, AGI- 70, INT- 57,
MND- 60, CHR- 52

75 Hume RNG/NIN

HP-974, STR- 62, DEX- 66, VIT- 65, AGI- 73, INT- 60,
MND- 60, CHR- 58

75 Mithra RNG/NIN

HP-974, STR- 59, DEX- 73, VIT- 62, AGI- 78, INT- 60
MND- 57, CHR- 52

75 Tarutaru RNG/NIN

HP- 818, STR- 56, DEX- 66, VIT- 62, AGI- 76, INT- 67
MND- 57, CHR- 58

Elvaan has the highest STR and MND. MND determines added effect damage on Holy Bolts. There's enough Ranged Accuracy gear that Elvaans don't have a problem hitting the mobs, and they do so for more damage than any other RNG. Galka RNGs are a close 2nd as far as STR, and they have higher VIT than a 75 Hume PLD...

Ok what i've come to conclude, Elvaan RNG is an awsome choice, there are actually only one good way to play the job at lower lvls.

1-24 RNG/WAR - you may be elvaan but up to 24 voke may be needed and also the STR boost WAR gives helps a lot...

1-24 RNG/THF - why bother... yes the AGI boost is nice, bot doesen't compare to the STR that /WAR gives. plus whats a thf w/o TH right...

best choice being RNG/WAR untill lvl 25

25-75 RNG/WAR - again, STR boosts will be a great help in pt. as well as be useful for solo/farming.

25-75 RNG/NIN - what is the main thing RNG's do in a pt... "Fish" and, Heavy damage. we RNG's have crap DEF. so Utsumi is very helpful when we pull, also as ppl have said we cam take a lot of hate... so shadows are always a good thing.

25-75 RNG/THF - to be honest... only helpful for farming.

Being elvaan we have extra STR as it is, so /NIN s my fav. choice, shadows are very helpful, and we still hit extreamly hard.

Add this with Scar's stat breakdown and your find a lot of help.

one final point, you can always use foods to adjust your stats how you like them. i have high Ranged acc. gear, and i use Yellow Curry for the Ranged Attack boost.

or you can go high ranged attack and use sushis for the acc. boost. its up to you on that one.
