Parrying skill 200

Background:

Parrying activation rate = parry #/(blinked hits+parry #)

I'm a 75 nin who always parses.. done many tests with parry, 20,000 blinked hits in rivern b01 w/capped parry and 23 agi, tests in standard xp, tests in ep and too weak, tests in bc/enm/etc... I parse, its one of the things I enjoy. Few days ago i got 200 skill parrying and my boxer's mantle. This morning was going over logs of last few days like i always do, crunched my parry rate... and got 4.6% over 3800 non blinked hits. I've never seen parry go higher then 2% no matter if skills capped or not, no matter how much agi i had...

Ok at this point im thinkin the parser must be broken, it had been a few days and i've done everything from olla to hakutaku to a few diff capped enms and areas. So i get into an xp party tonite with the express reason to test out 200 parry on t-it mobs, just in case too weak, or capped areas, or w/e skewed it. No boxer's mantle ever worn, nothing but straight up 200 parry vs mob.

Parrying activation rate = parry #(20)/(blinked hits(299)+parry #(20))
0.051813471502590673575129533678756 or 5.18%

Granted this is a small test but even on small tests it should be 1% +/- of 2%, always has been. My thoughts: theres an activation rate boost at 200 parry.
Discuss, if i find any data that was wrong, i'll reply, but please test this out as well and make sure im not smoking something more then a camel :) freaked so bad i had ls members recheck my data and math chuckle... ill do a long test soon but i dont think i'll see anything other then this. What im curious about is there going to be another parry boost later on? Can't wait to find out :P sorry for no data on the first but seriously i thought the parser had bugged out... so i shut it down and rebooted chuckle

O and note: this only pertains to ninja as far as i know. it MAY pertain to all jobs, plds cap parry at 210? i think... so feel free to test this data one and post yer replies so others of your job my know

What do you use to parse? I've been looking for a good parser for a while to check out crit hit rates and such on my own nin.

I have a question i think you maybe able to answer...

and tips for lvling parrying that you can think of I am currently trying with this set up...

2 Parrying kinves +10 parrying skill
1 Parrying Torque +7 parrying skill
Rouge bonnet (thf af) parrying skill +10

Cavalier's Mantle -10 evasion
tilt belt -5 evasion

trying to force myself to parry I have gotten about 2 lvl of parrying but it took a few hours and many many fights to get.

I am a lvl 70 thf and my parrying is 112/251 needless to say I feel the need to cap my parrying for farming and over all to help avoid taking damg. As far as I can tell Nin, Thf and Sam have the highest parrying skill in the game.
I would get the Parrying Earring +3 parrying but at 2.5mil on my server the cost doesn't seem worth it atm to me.
As for the Boxer mantle I need to look into what I need to do to get it still.

ive found that to skill parry you really need to do 1 of 3 things

1: fight strong monsters and hope you get a skillup

2: drop some gil on -evasion -agi gear

3: Lvl pld, pld's eva is fairly low compared to thf or nins + pld dont have shadows there fore increacing your overall odds of geting a skillup

evasion > Shadows > parry

so pretty much in order to get a parry skill up the monsters hit will have to miss your eva and shadows before you even have a chance at getting a parry skill up.

:as a final not no matter what way you try its gonna take ALOT of time. but pld would be the fastest

I think its evasion > parry > shadows > counter. I know I've parried with shadows up. Also, you should lvl parry on mobs around your parry lvl. For instance, if you're parry is around lvl 150 (which equates to around lvl 50 nin, to be capped), you'd want to fight mobs that are T-IT to lvl50.
