Gardening: Feeding Crystals?

I have tried to garden before, but that was a long time ago and i don't remember much, and so i was looking through the gardening guide here (by the way, which is excellent!), and it talks about feeding two crystals, but how often can you feed crystals? or do you feed it both at the same time? like, i want to grow a fire ingot or whatever it's called from the tree saplings, and it says two fire crystals (and i've been told both planted on firesday each), do i give it two crystals at the same time or is there two separate times to feed it each crystal? thanks!

You feed them at different times. Saplings is a.. week? between feedings. (may only be a few days or slightly longer than a week, but a week is a safe bet) If you try to grow something else keep in mind that seeds, cuttings, saplings, and stems do/may have longer/shorter feeding times.
