I'm just curious as to what the EFFECT: Empty Killer does. It is attached to various Shade items. Like Shade Mittens and such. I am just wondering, what exactly does Empty Killer do as an effect. Thanks.

It adds the "killer" effect (like the "xxx killer", BST's job traits) against the "Empty" family mobs. The Emptys are the mobs from the CoP extensions, like the Promyvion's.

All killer effects have the chance to paralyze the mob for a turn by intimidating them. Like when you see a pld fighting an undead mob it says, "The Wight is intimidated by So-and-so's presence". Same thing for empty killer. It only works when the monster hates the person with the killer effect though.

the set is a good idea to have for tanks since they should incur the most hate. If your a melee or mage its pointless to wear it(I've tried it).

actually killer effects are based on charisma higher chr equals higher intimidation im not so sure tanking has anything to do with it when you are fighting dragons do you use a drg for a tank no why cause their killer effects can still be present while another is tanking

Yes, higher CHR is believed to increase Killer proc rates. But you still must have hate for it to trigger.

And as a reminder, Circles provide that Killer effect to all party members. That's when you'll see a Wight be intimidated by a BLM's presence. BLM didn't have the Undead Killer trait, his PLD used Holy Circle and temporarily gave Undead Killer to everyone.
