Best paladin weapon?

was just wondering whats better to use? a sword and shield or a great sword? any help would be great.

a sword and shield That all the way...Great Sword I would keep skilled to a certain point but never use it in a exp pt :/

Just go pld/nin w/ a kraken club and a sword like some people on my server do. :-)

Seriously, though, the point of pld is to get bashed in the head. A shield can significantly reduce the damage taken while getting hit. This means that whatever weapon you pick comes secondary to what shield you use. Ergo, you really need to pick a 1h weapon of some kind, and the most common would be a sword.

As a side note, if you are farming or something irregular, and the mobs don't hit hard, sure, use GSword, as they do more dmg and have better WS for the most part. Also depending on what you're doing, you could use a relatively high-dmg staff, which at lvl 60ish gets you the Spirit Taker ws, that gives you back 250-300mp on average.

For exp parties Sword + Board are the best without question. Later in the endgame Earth Staff becomes better on hard hitting HNMs (short wyrms if you have the chr to intimidate them). GSword is for fun mainly :)

sword and sheild are the most commin. pld also have A skill in club and staff. some pld's past lv51 will use a earth stuff due to the -20% damage taken and the weapon skill it has can be handy.

If you have max skill, Terra/Earth staff is a decent alternative to sword/shield.

Thank you, the help was useful, being that im a Tarutaru, i also eat boiled crawfish, and once i get a little bit higher, i'll use steamed crabs.
