The December 2004 FFXI patches redid the entire food effects structure. The changes are outlined in the food section of the December FFXI Patch Compilation of Info. This is still very much a work in progress; please leave info here on any food effects that seem to be different from what we have listed, or that we haven't updated yet.

I've notice when using the Spicy Crackers for HP regeneration while healing, when the food effect was still on, had gotten up to continue soloing, engaged a Forest Hare in West Ron - 3 times the Forest Hare was intimidated by my presence. So, possible Vermim Killer on the Spicy Crackers (please correct me if I am wrong on this one) ^^

Thanks for that info. It's very likely that those crackers have a Killer effect on them, as many of the newly changed "Snack Foods" do. I'll try to find more info on those ones in particular regarding their effects, and update them when I do.

You might add Navarin to the Ranged Attack section of the food recommendations, to go between Rarab Meatball and Dhalmel Stew.
Also, the recent Tribune post about food contained this interesting tidbit:
"Ah, zat reminds me! I discovered zee other day zat flounder meuniere has an effect similar to most mushroom dishes. Zat is a mystery, eh?"
Sounds like Flounder Meuniere has -Enmity, which might make it attractive for RNG that find themselves tanking a bit too often.
