What\'s been goin on guys? I haven\'t seen any updates in a while. What\'s happening to my favorite site for information?

I noticed that too. If the site isn\'t going to be updated, could someone please provide some insight as to how to decipher the .dat files? I\'d love to have the items in a relational database, which is probably how they are stored in the .dat files.

The Advanced Item Search here was by far the best FFXI equipment search I\'m aware of when it was up-to-date, but I want to do much more sophisticated things, like assigning a melee value to equipment, something like (2*accuracy)+(3*haste)+(1.5*attack)+(1.5*strength)+(dexterity), and then sort by equipment-slot and that calculated value to quickly find the best melee pieces for each slot. I\'d filter by job and level also.

I\'ve actually created the queries already and used them on a small sample of data I copied and pasted. If you use IE, copy the search results, paste into Word, select the table, copy that and then paste it into an empty Access table, you get something easier to normalize than anything else I\'ve come up with. Making that pit-stop in Word, even though you don\'t change anything, makes it paste differently into Access.

Please update the database, and/or tell us how to parse the .dat files. Thanks.
