The Starlight Celebration!

Master, Master!

The Starlight Celebration is here again, kupo!

The lights! The sweets! The presents!

Just thinking about the fun keeps me awake all night, kupo!

............Ummm...
......Hrmmm............

Alright, you got me! I just can't keep a secret away from my favorite adventurer...

As you already know, the Starlight Celebration will begin in a few days. But what you don't know is that we Moogles are in a pickle, kupo. The trees that we had made for this year's festivities have vanished from Windurst! And what's worse, a terrifying treant has suddenly shown up at the Dhalmel Farm and is wreaking havoc on the locals, kupo!

Come to think of it, I haven't heard from my brothers and sisters working in Bastok and San d'Oria. What if there are crazy trees running amok in their towns as well...?

Wait a minute... Treants in the towns...?
Didn't something like this happen a few years ago? There was some kind of freak accident at the Rhinostery in Windurst, right? If this is the same thing, we're in biiig trouble!

Anyway, as long as these freaks of nature are trouncing about our towns, everybody will be too scared to come out and take part in the Starlight Celebration's festivities, kupo! Even the smilebringers have said that they won't pass out their presents until they're sure the children will be safe.

Ah, what to do? What to do!?
The treant won't go away, kupo!

Well, I guess it has come down to this...
My colleagues and I must take up arms to protect the city from fear!
Oh, don't worry. We'll do all the work. But, we sure could use a cheer or two from our humble masters, kupo!

Event Period

After the 12/19/2006 (Tuesday) maintenance, until 12/31/06 (Sunday) 24:00.

I've heard the treant event is part of a quest that gives you dream robe.
One thing i don't understand, is that the event anoucment says MOGS need cheer from their master to protect the town from the tree, and people are all cheering the TREE @_@
Seems odd to me ...

Igot a Candy Ring from my Drem Coffer. Does anyone happen to know what it does by chance? So I bet the Roast Turkey came fromthe Holiday Platter and the talk about this x-mas rod will come from the stocking furnishing. This is only a guess but we'll find out.

Turns out you have to cheer the tree or you don't get the mini quest. at least that was my experience

here's the info i've gathered so far. start off buying a dream hat from a moogle. chase the treant, apparently you are to cheer the treant on, not the moogle. then after it disappears, talk to the smilebringer. go find the fake smilebringer as requested by the real smilebringer. talk to the fake, then go back to the real smilebringer which SHOULD give you the robe. put the robe on and cheer on the treant again. talk to smilebringer again, talk to fake smilebringer again, then back to the real smilebringer. that should get you your +1 robe. also, the first time i did this i got a dream coffer which i placed in my layout. i just talked to my moogle today and he told me that he goes thru my stuff when i'm away and found something inside. a "gateau aux fraise". so by this point you should have the dream hat, dream robe, dream robe+1, dream coffer, and a treat. lastly, what i've heard and am in the middle of testing, you need to place all 3 xmas trees in your house and the next morning your moogle will give you a present. exit your moogle house and open the present to recieve your dream hat+1. i'll post in the morning whether or not this has been successful or not. someone this evening told me it's actually 4 trees so now i'm getting conflicting stories. my only problem is, i cant convince everyone to cheer the nomad moogle instead of the treant so i dont know what reward, if any, is given for cheering for the good guy. sorry for such a long post, but hopefully it helps!

hey all finished event in 2 hours, easy nuff.
ok here it goes there are 2 parts to this event :

1 imposter smilebringer / treant : by cheering the treant on it will make it to fountain by this happening the npc will pop and mention about treant being scary then ask you to investigate an imposter smilebringer there are 3 psooible npcs that are the fake, look for someone wearing a dream hat or watch the shout log, people will be shouting.by doin this you get the robe and the robe +1 or fireworks dont use fireworks^^
By doin this part in each city first time you get
bastok : dream coffer / windy :dream stocking /sandy : dream platter then after repeating you get the above mentioned items

2: presents for kiddies by doin this once per game day you can raise the event fame (not nation fame) also by turning in fireworks from qst above once fame is high enough : the npc will tell you how well your doin, but it took 20 fireworks and 5 presents and after i had tree from last year in mh my moggle found a present.By using this present you get dream hat +1, i continue to find food and items in my mh once per game day also
i have gotten black pudding from stocking and buche au chocolate from patter still waitin on coffer food. hope this helps. GL and merry X-mas

to get the Dream Hat+1 you must bring a LOT of joy to the kiddies. Not only do they accept the gifts given out by the NPC, they also accept fireworks (note: Muteppo did not work....assuming Datechochin will not either). I was told to trade alot of fireworks to get the Hat+1. I traded at LEAST 60 fireworks to children in all nations before talking to my moogle for the second time (first time I got a Black Pudding from the stocking) and he foudn a "Special Present" under the Windurstian Tree in my moghouse. I stepped outside, used it and watched a cool firework similar to an Air Rider, except it was a sleigh and reindeer, i think. Happened to check my inventory and saw that I had received a Dream Hat+1.

No sign of this Dream Wand / Rod as of yet. Lots of speculation..... Keep trading to the kids, i guess.

I got the dream platter just by doing the cheering/hunting quest. I got 1)Cream Platter 2)Dream Robe 3)Sparkling Hand X10

It is seeming to me to just be random.
