Giant Bird Feathers

I strongly suspect Giant Bird Feathers do not actually drop off Zilart Cockatrices such as the ones in Labyrinth of Onzozo. Spent a couple hours down in there with TH1 tonight, got 6 Chest Keys, 15 Cockatrice Meat, 3 Cockatrice Skin, zero feathers, and went 0/15 on Steal attempts with WHM75/THF37. (Got interrupted midway thru to help people kill Ose and Hellion) By comparison, spent 1 hour killing Diatryma in Misareaux, got 7 meat, 2 feathers, and 3 plumes, so it might have just been the WaxGibbous moon messing things up..

I used to farm cockatrice meat for kabobs all the time. I've farmed probably over 100 stacks, usually from the cockatrice outside Jeuno, but a few stacks in LoO and a few here and there in Meriph. The ones in LoO and outside Jeuno have dropped giant bird feathers. This is very rare, don't even think I've gotten a stack of them that way but they do drop. They can also be stolen from them too (2 successful steals in over hundreds of attempts).

Thanks for the info! So, just for the record, would you say the ones outside Jeuno give more feathers than the ones in LoO? Or do I need to find a whole new way of farming these things?

I cannot say whether or not giant bird feathers were more common from the ones near Jeuno or LoO. The drop rate was so rare and I farmed so little in LoO any numerical value assigned would be meaningless. As I stated not even a stack of giant bird feathers in all my time in either location. Diamtryma appear to have a far superior drop rate in addition to other drops as well.
