The recipe is listed as:
* Goldsmithing (58)
o Crystal: Fire
o Ingredients: Combat Caster's Dagger, Mythril Ingot
o Result: Combat Caster's Dagger +1
o HQ #1: Combat Caster's Dagger +2

However when I try it at 52 goldsmithing I get:

"Synthesis cancelled. This formula is beyond your current craft skill level."

I'm not sure what craft skills are required for it, but it isn't just goldsmithing 58.

Erm, My Friend made it with 60 goldsmithing 5 times for me, no fail either time, and no support or any + items, he is smithing main... so it must be somewhere between 52-60

Maybe it requires a smithing sub? Or maybe they migrated it over to be a smithing recipe, not goldsmithing. For example, the combat casters axe +1 is smithing. I have 52 goldsmithing, and shaded specs. If it was simply a 58 capped goldsmithing recipe I should be able to do it for skill ups, but I can't.

Check the Guild NPC's and see if/where it shows up on their recipe lists. It's all in order so should allow you to figure the recipe level if it's on there. Additionally, you can see if it has any new sub requirements. I'm 72GS and I might be able to look at this tonight and check.

Despite what they say about this synth, it is a Smithing Main synth. Smiths do synth with Mythiril. I have 88.1+3 Smithing, and the two times I've been requested to make this synth, I've gotten +2's. My GS is at 51.6. I promise you, it's a smithing main synth.

Good info here... I've updated the recipe to be Smithing, with an unknown cap. It sounds like there might be a Goldsmithing subskill as well, which is what causes the confusion; hopefully someday we can get some more solid info on it.
