I just hit level 88 in my cooking and I was wondering what there could possibly be to make some loot on.I've researched a lot and found that sole sushi seems to be one, and my fishing skill is at 43, are there any others? also, once i get my cooking to 100, what skill should i do next? would alchemy skilling benefit from my cooking skill the most? Or could i make enough from cooking hq's to get my goldsmithing high without it being too difficult? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. tnx.

Well, I hate to give you a gray answer here, but thats pretty much server specific I think. It also depends on how you want to make your gil.
For example, one of my other room mates has cooking at about your level. She will make a run of Turtle Soup. On the plus side, she can sell them for about 30k a piece, and a run of supplies for 12 soups cost about 60k. So on that recipe, she is making about a 300k gil profit. (it helps that as a fishermen I can provide her with the turtles, so her actual cost is much lower). The major downside is that it doesnt move. Sometimes, she can clear out a run of 12 in a day or two, other times, it will take her over a week.
Another big factor depends on what is your goal, high gil, or high profit. You can make foods that are cheap to make and have a low sell price, but your profit margin is huge, or do something that costs a lot to make, sells for a lot, but only has a small profit margin.
As an example, Sole sushi on Cerberus used to go for 75k (its down to 35k - 40k now) a stack for NQ. Assuming you have no, or very few breaks, you could probably make about 10k per stack of ingredients. The profit on that is low. On the other hand, crafting Jack O Lanterns is relatively cheap. I think it costs less than 2k for all the ingredients, but you can turn around and sell them for 7k a piece.
In short, I think it really matters on your style and your server. In my opinion, the best option is to find 3 or 4 recipes that you are 30 - 40 levels above. Plan to HQ alot, and try to get stuff that will move fast. Things like Jacks, Chief Kabobs, Pies, etc. Then also take 1 or 2 big ticket items that are in use, but are rarely up. Things like Turtle Soup, or Curry, something like that.
I would suggest mixing the two, that way you get the low, but steady gil coming from the HQed stuff, but then you get the occasional jackpot of selling some of the higher level stuff.
No matter which way you go though, I would strongly urge you to diverisify. Keep a few different recipes going. That way if someone is leveling off of the same recipe, or people start to massively undercut a particular recipe, you are not left swinging in the breeze with a million gil worth of food that you cant move.
As always, I hope this helped.

Cooking can be quite profitable if you go out and farm, harvest, or buy the ingredients from Regional NPCs.
A bit of advice for you if you are either Rank 5 in your nation, or bought the Airship pass for the 3 cities:
Print out the Regional Merchant NPCs list from this website. Usually in a good amount of cooking recipes a few of the items will be held by these NPCs. Then just check the conquest map to see which NPC has what items in stock, and head there via Airship.
You wouldnt believe how much cash this has saved me, just to get to 30 Cooking.
Part of gaining profit starts at the purchase, as I have been told, and it is true ^^
Good luck making cash with Cooking ^^ I wish you great fortune in Vana'diel!
