If there is a difference in characters' levels within a party, the experience gained is modified based on the following calculations, with calculation 1 given higher priority than calculation 2. Assuming the highest-leveled character in a party is A,
1. If at least one of the party members is Level 51+, OR the level difference between you and A is 8 or more:
EXP = EXP based on the level difference between the monster and A * your level / A's level.
2. If the above condition does not apply:
EXP = EXP based on the level difference between a monster and A * EXP needed to the next level BY YOU / EXP needed to the next level BY A.
EXP = EXP earned based on the level difference of the highest-level character * 1.80-1.84? / Number of characters in the alliance
EXP = Normal EXP * 0.7
If a charmed pet is used by a Beastmaster at any time during a fight, the pet's level is considered when determining the highest level in the party; this can reduce the experience for other members in the party with the Beastmaster, but only if the Beastmaster charms higher level mobs. If a BST has a charmed pet at the time of the kill, the Beastmaster himself (and only the Beastmaster) will take a 30% xp reduction; this does not apply to pets summoned with the Call Beast Job Ability. |
