In the Tenshodo, speak to Faursel. When you talk to him, choose the Third option " ". That's right, it's nothing.
He'll go into a rant and the conversation will end. Speak to him again and tell him you want the pass.
Now you begin the quest. Choose your list. There are 4 options. Beginner, Intermidate, and Advanced. The items are tricky drops, but fairly common.
Your forth option is pay 500k. If you have that to shovel out, pay it. Then wait one game day and claim your pass.

i will say this much
i did the beginners list (cause i didn't have 500k to blow and couldn't get a testimony - wasn't sure if i could get the 3 beastman items... so)
wild rabbit tail - got it on first migthy rarab in the penn
dhamel saliva - got it on first bull dhamel in the penn
bloody robe - got it on first bogy in the dunes
damselfly worm... that took a little while (damselfly)
crab apron... that also took a bit of time (snipper)
magicked skull - unless you have A LOT of time to waste don't look for these in the dunes, ghouls only spawn from 20:00 to 4:00 and they don't always spawn >< bogy spawn no problem
if you can, go to gusteng(sp?) mines in the highlands - 42THF/14RNG had no problem (and no aggro) i suggest using ranger for widescan as it will cut down on running around - ghouls spawn all day and night down there so all you need to do is wait for them to spawn - it'll take a while but you'll get a skull - then it's over to DEM and chocobo to jeuno (unless you have warp) - it might help to have a 45+ THF buddy pt with you and either actively fight or sit around so you can borrow their TH2 for help with the skull
