I activated this quest and instead of receiving the Phoenix armlet I received the Phoenix pearl which has the following text:
Enormous power is contained within this pearl. It should be strong enough to seal the gate that lies in the deepest part of the Pso'Xja ruins.
I wonder what he asks you to do and the key item you receive might vary based on something else.
