All sources I've come across say that you get fame for completing quests and missions and as I understand it the "Give a Moogle a Break" quest requires a certain level of fame. I bought the bed a few days back and wasn't offered the mission, yet last night I suddenly was. I haven't completed any quests (either new or repeat) in the mean time, in fact the only thing I've done is gain in Gil (through selling drops in the AH), buy better equip, exp and conquest points, oh yeah and grow flowers & up my clothcraft skill.
Since I can only imagine one of these things having an impact, is it possible that your conquest points also in fact affect your fame???

The moogle quests are an odd one. They don't start straight away. The bed has to be in your house before a certain day and you are offered the quest after another day - this can take upto a week for some people. And from hear-say (no firm facts) the quest may not even kick off then but may have a small random element

Actually none of those have anything to do with the quest. Once the bed is placed in your MH you get the quest on the next conquest tally. Monday at 12AM, technically Sunday.

Ah, I see, all the sources I'd come across just said that you needed the bed and a certain level of fame in your hometown. Really had me wondering what was up. Thanks

In the context I was speaking in the 'certain day' was the conquest day - but depending on your time zone could be sunday or monday. Fame DOES have a relevance to the quest as well. And ALL of my LS have done all of the parts of this quest and not everyone was issued with the quest even though they had the beds equiped in their MH, and had to wait another week

On top of putting the bed in your mog house and waiting till next conquest tally, the expansions do indeed require a certain level of fame. My mule has had a bed for months now and no quest, I really need to get him a bit of fame XD
