You guys are always one of the first to get patch info out. Also your info is by far more organized and complete than any other site. Thank you very much.

at what point do you think SE will realize with all the .dat file readers and other tools out there, its pointless to not just tell us everything they did in an update.
i.e. no more "various other fixes"

The first half of the armor is now in; it's taking a bit longer than I anticipated, but the rest should be in within another couple hours.

The "various other fixes" they refer to in the patch notes are things that are never found in the data files. S-E knows exactly what they put into the files, to have them seen; there are a lot of changes that will never show up there. Keep in mind that they expect everyone to have this info, sooner or later, at least if they're Japanese -- they sell booklets a couple months after each major patch in Japan that have basically all the same info that we try to compile here.

First of all, thank you so much for the info!

Just a minor correction, you have accidentily listed Barbarian Mittens (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/7026) under Head, instead of Hands ^_^;

Good catch there, must be slippery fingers here today. That has been fixed, and will be reflected on the Compilation of Info when it is next updated as well.

All equippable items are now listed in the compilation of info. There are some really amazing items here, stat-wise; the odd thing is that no equipment in this patch is obtained from crafting, best I can tell. It should prove interesting to see exactly where it all comes from, in the game.

Someone mentioned they thought it was in Lower Jeuno... I tried checking every possible npc i could find... including all doors that opened or were for quests (beastmaster quest door) and I couldn't find it there... so if you go looking for it and find it in Lower Jeuno i commend you for it because if there's one npc i missed i'd be really surprised o.O ^_^

The NPC quest is as follow:
Talk to Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno. Choose a race/gender and name for your npc(as far as I can tell this has no effect on thier job)
Talk to Bheem at the entrance to Upper Jeuno from Battalia Downs
Talk to Alka(I think thats his name) in Ru'Lude Gardens(straight forward from the zone, old man)
Talk to Bheem again
Talk to Luto again. You will recieve a silver ingot for first quest completed.

Part 2(must zone out and back in before starting):
Talk to Luto
Talk to Bheem
Head to Battalia Downs and from there Eldieme Necropolis(G-8 entrance). There you will fight an NM skeleton by examining the ???. A 42 Whm had no trouble with this, so 40+ anything should be fine. Three of these skeletons may be up at any given time. Important to note is that if your NPC dies during this fight you must do it again. The <ft> command can be used to target your NPC with magic(Ex: /ma Cure <ft>)
After a cutscene return to Upper Jeuno and speak with Luto again. Second quest completed.

Part 3:
Talk to Luto
Go to Port San d'Oria and talk to the elvaan male inside Cargo Room B to your immediate right(I forget his name, starts with a P. Portvaure?)
Head to Ghelsba Outpost. Enter the Hut where you do the Dragoon Quest, Sandy Mission 1-3(Rescue the Children), etc. This is a Level 40 Cap fight. You will fight a dragon until its health is about 70%, then your NPC will show up and fight with you until it is dead. Again, keep your NPC alive. After this return to Upper Jeuno and speak with Luto. You will recieve the Signal Pearl(Level 5 All Jobs earring) which can summon your NPC to fight alongside you. Summon once per day, recast time of 20 hours. I dont know how long it lasts yet. You can also talk to your NPC at 'Rendevouz Points' in Ru'Lude Gardens(near the AH), Northern San d'Oria(near the Residential Area), Port Bastok(dont know yet), and Windurst Waters(dont know yet). There you can chat with them, ask thier level and combat style(default: Level 30 "Shield" type from what Ive heard. Mine was, as well as the 5 people I talked to), and change thier report settings(whether or not you want to hear when they use abilities, are low on MP, are low on HP). Its my theory that either leveling or more quests will result in the ability to change your NPCs job, though that is just my gut fealing with little to back it up(besides the fact that "Shield", which I assume is warrior since it provokes, wouldnt have MP or a need to report it)

Note to anyone planning on doing this quest anytime soon: There are lines, you heard me right lines, to defeat these NMs. The NM Skeleton line took me 1.5-2 hours to get through and 30 seconds to kill. The Ghelsba Outpost line was 6+ hours, but that was because of rampant cutting. So unless you have alot of time, leave this for sometime later when most others have finished it.
