Elementals

I am a RDM32/BLM17 and a newbee, I tried to kill an earth elemental in Valk.Dun. didnt do any damage with my Long sword... :( and I almost got killed. Does anyone know how to kill elementals?

Elementals are generally hard to kill with pure melee, since they have high physical defense. The best way to kill them is by nuking them with the element that the elemental is weak to

They are all really resistant to physical damage, but weaker to magicl damage, espescially the one they are opposed to... Also, EArth Elemental is the most physically resistant.

Silence is the key. They mainly attak and defend with magic... Dispelling and Silencing them make them super-weak.

Elementals are ideal for Black mages to kill, rdm can also kill them, but you should make sure you're strong enough to kill it, all elementals are weak to the opposite elemental they're made of, so if you fight an Earth Elemental (or Fire) in the dunes you could use enaero (or enwater), and nuke with spells of those elementals etc ^^ Also using barstone is a good idea and cast silence on it (wind based) then all it can do is hit you and at 32 you can have blink up, you get stoneskin at 34 I think, take care ^^
