Some things that I found off about your description of Padfoot. I was at every spawn for a little over two weeks. Here is your description, and some notes on it.

Located: G-7, H-8, H-9, I-8, K-9

F-7, G-7, H-9, I-9, K-9

Spawns up to 5 copies at once, approximately every 21-24 hours; each copy spawns by itself at G-7, H-8, H-9, I-8, K-9. The copy in any specific location may or may not spawn, upon repop.

He spawns all five every time. All five spawn at the exact same time. I have camped with groups on many occasions, and never has anyone not had the Padfoot pop in their area at the same time the others pop.

Item Drops: Assailant's Ring drops 30% of the time; Astral Earring drops 5% of the time.

I have seen 4 astral earrings drop, and 2 assailant's rings. From some 50+ kills, I can say for sure that the drop will either be Astral Ring, or Assailant's Ring, or a Sheepskin and Lanolin Cube. You will get one of those 3 drop sets, but never a combination of them from one padfoot.

Note the following is still just a theory of mine, I haven't had the resources and lack of competition to prove or disprove it yet:

I think that each spawn has one Padfoot that will either drop the Assailant's Ring or Astral Earring. I believe that the other four only drop a sheepskin and lanolin cube. I think that the 21-24 hour respawn goes by the one that has the real drop, and when he dies any unclaimed Padfoots despawn. I do not think treasure hunter will have any effect on the drop rate for this mob.

I concur with all the above information. Ive been partied with numerous people, and killed 14 times (out of 16 camping attempts). That info seems about right^^

Thanks for the info on Padfoot. The mob info has been updated accordingly, to hopefully provide an accurate overview of the mob. That drop theory is interesting, and it wouldn't be surprising if it was true; I'm sure Square-Enix has many formulas to keep the good gear from dropping very much.

I can confirm the drop theory.

Always one that drops either the Assailants Ring or Astral Earring, when that one is killed rest is despawned if not claimed.

Been there all for myself 3 days straight a week ago, then work screwed all up. :>

Got 1 Ass. Ring & 2 Astral Earrings. :D
