Your information on the main page is wrong. I got the hardwood katana and I never touched the tarutaru kind. It seems you have to deal the deathblow to one of them to recieve it.

I have to agree, I think it is deathblow only. I just hit each of the four kinds 14-17 times, and all i got was 4 stacks of 12 pieces of candy.

I hit each of them 20+ times (one over 25 times with hundred fists) and I only got 12 pieces of each mochi. You do NOT get the Hardwood Katana from hitting each more than 12 times.

I walked into Saruta, went to where I know the taru armor would stop, waited, hit it with hundred fists and killed it. Went back to Windurst, got my hardwood katana. I did not attack any other armors with this use of the sword.

After getting the katana, I went back out and attacked several, getting the deathblow on a hume. I returned to receive only rice cakes. Unless there's a prize for getting the death blow on all four, this seems to be the limit. Which is still more Stuff than we got from the Doll Festival, so why complain?

I can confirm without a doubt it's deathblow. I camped the Tarutaru for an hour soloing him down to zero, finally killing him. I did not hit any other armors. When I traded the sword back I got the HQ.

ok so... once you get the Hardwood Great Katana... what do you do with it ? Is there any use to it beside being a (insert your non-Samurai job) with a Great Katana ?

Unless this sleep regen thing pans out, it's just a show piece. Easy enough to test... Put on some HP+ gear and pop a sleeping potion.

Oh, and there's another error with it; the Dmg on the Hardwood Katana is 5 instead of 1, which it is listed as.

Thanks for the info. As far as the katanas go, I don't believe there is any "use" for them apart from the special event, they're just an event reward.

It looks like the damage is different on the katanas: Wooden Katana has 1 damage; Hardwood Katana has 5 damage.

The regen while sleeping seems credible as I have seen many posts confirming it. Also I read that the additional effect is actually Gravity.

I would just like to post somethin on here I found intertesing. I had just gotten the Great Katana and was passing through South gustaberg when I saw Leapiung Lizzy. I'm like Whoa! I ran to it on chocobo and claimed it. I was ninja/rng at the time (I was going to camp it anyways) When i got there, I decided to attack it with this Katana. I had my skill at like 55 and I was hitting for decent damage. I killed it (using Tachi: Enpi) and got the drop. I just wanted to know if someone else would try killing a NM a few times with this thing and see if it has Treasure Hunter Hidden Effect or something. I think this would be a pretty sweet a$$ sword if it did. Can someone just help me out and say if they have done this or not. Make sure if you try it, you kill the NM a few times, because obviously you wouldn't get the drop 50% of the time on some even with Treasure Hunter II. Thx!
